'Bioshock' Coming To PS3?

A PlayStation 3 version of 2K Boston and 2K Australia's story-driven underwater shooter BioShock will arrive this September, assuming rumors printed within the June issue of EGM are true.

According to the magazine and proven NeoGAF proxy SuperSonic 1305, the PlayStation 3 port will pack improved visuals over the previous PC and Xbox 360 editions along with the previously-released free downloadable content.

When reached for comment today, 2K Games told Shacknews it had "no comment" on the matter. A PlayStation 3 iteration of BioShock was denied by creator Ken Levine last August, though his phrasing only indicated the studio was not pursuing a PS3 version at that time.

EGM's writeup further states that the upcoming BioShock 2 will be unveiled around September as well. No platforms have been announced for the 2K Marin-developed sequel, though PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 editions are expected.

I gues that 360 fans cant use the same tired reason for why the 360 is better then the ps3

Yeah just like Lost Planet I doubt they would care. Lets just hope its a good port if its true.

two very different games. one of those games is currently being stated as a ps3 exclusive while they other was never an exclusive to begin with.

I believe the PS3 will get Bioshock... I don't find that hard to believe...

I find it hard to believe that it'll have better graphics then the PC version... being that the PS3 doesn't have full DX10 support...

People will care. The difference between this and Lost Planet is that this won't be a crappy port. If it has improved visuals even over the PC version, and free downloadable content that's a big deal. Of course people will care.

people were saying Okami should've been on the Wii when it was first shown. the demand for it being on the Wii was very high..cant say the same for this game.

Microsoft consumers were making a point of telling people it was never going to the PS3 last year. Every assumption made by the PS3 crowd was disgarded and laughed at. Many people were essentially saying that it would never make it to the system.

I really love this game, have it for pc. I wish they would have released it with a bunch of more extras like more areas to explore, and fill in some background of some characters like "Atlas", and I forget her name, but I think it's Tereblium or something, there interesting characters.

But oh well, I'll just play the pc version again.

It's never too late to undermine past "The game is exclusive to 360!" comments. It really shows how near-sighted some people are.

Because the popularity of the PS3 will make Bioshock fresh again, reviving and then accelerating any hype it once had to new heights untouchable by the Xbox and PC. That will convince developers that the PS3 is not an expensive paper weight.

I would like to see it released for the PS3. I plan on getting a PS3 once the PS4 comes out and I want to play this game... hopefully the first and second will be released so I can get both dirt cheap. :) I don't plan on picking up a 360 so it will be good news for me if it goes to the PS3.

I know it's a long time to wait for a PS3 but it will be cheap and in the meantime I have my Wii, DS, PS2 and pending on E3 announcements, maybe a PSP. The only draw back is I will miss out on some on-line experiences... maybe games like MGS4 and LBP will still have an active on-line community... hope so.

You can play it on the PC, a friend of mine was able to play it in a Nvidia FX 5600 or 6200 with no probs. But it will look really bad though

I would actually pick this up if it came to PS3 I just hope it's not another Half Life 2 for me.

Same here. I dont' own a gaming PC or an Xbox 360.

I played it in the days when I had a 360, the gameplay wasn't all that, IMO it was the sotry that gave the game most of it's credit, It would be nice to see Bioshock 2 arrive on the PS3 but it wouldn't bother me that much, I was sure there would be no Bioshock 2 on the PS3 when I sold my Xbox and bought one and it didn't bother me at all.
