Beyond: Two Souls Production Budget Revealed to be 27 Million Dollars

In an interview with French website Le Figaro and David Cage, it was revealed that the production budget of Beyond: Two Souls was 20 million euros (just over 27 million dollars). While this may seem like a hefty price tag, its fairly low considering its presentation as a virtual film. As stars Ellen Page and Willem Dafoe command reasonably high salaries (although both have starred recently in low budget indie films like Super and 4:44 Last Day on Earth), itd be interesting to know how much of that budget was reserved solely for their performances.

For comparison, Heavy Rain cost 16.7 million euros to produce (22.2 million dollars), so its not a substantial increase considering the visual upgrade and Hollywood talent of this production.

Beyond: Two Souls is due out October 8 for PS3.

I'm pretty confident QD will make it back on goodwill alone.

If it sells a million in its first week, it's already profitable at that mark.  I'm gonna guess it'll do 2.5 million lifetime.

That doesn't seen like an outrageous amount at all. I'm sure it will be profitable.

I don't see domination, but a success of sorts for sure.

Lower than I expected, will probably turn a profit in it's first week or so.

I doubt I would be interested in the game, since there's so little gameplay.

Game looks so great, and the story will be phenomenal

Heavy Rain and Walking Dead were great. I expect Beyond to be a great experience as well.

What's the marketing budget though?

Development cost may have been $27 million but marketing is usually double or even triple that, especially when big publishers are attached to projects.

Being a PS3 game, there is no guarantee that it will sell well. It should though.

The game should reach a million sales at full price. So that's about $60 million in revenue(not profit). They probably will get half that themselves. But I think their hoping to sell above what Heavy Rain did.PSP107

This is a more action oriented game than Heavy Rain, so I am guessing that it should sell more.  It depends on the press and how it is recived. With Next gen consoles coming out it may be overlooked.  who knows. 

I am looking foward to it thoug will not be first to buy.  If it looks like a good game then yes, but if not then no. its more of a wait and see. but that is for every game for me. I do not have time to play every game I have.
