i was just listening to the FFX theme song and wow... it's a true piece of art, nothing, and i mean NOTHING can touch it especially if you've beaten the game .. wow this is really my favortie RPG ever, and the music played a big part of it.

Final Fantasy Music is amazing, followed by Metal Gear Solid series.
They really do such a fantastic job.

As far as my favorite THEME, I would go with the quirky SuperMarioBros. 8 bit theme, far too memorable for me.I hum it, and everyone knows what it goes too.

EDIT: As for To Zanarkand... it's been a while since I actually heard the song and I decided to give it a listen. I am surpried that so many people claim it to be "the best" game song ever. It is incredibly simple and lifeless. It has none of this "passion" you speak of, no soul.

Beethoven, a master cIassical composer knows a thing or two about writing music with soul. This and this are two of his best pieces and showcase how a piece of piano-centric music conveys "passion" and "soul."foxhound_fox

the SOTC pieces are as simple and as "lifeless" as to zanerkand IMO, but it's not simplicity.... i just can't explain it but yeah ..

FF in general has the best while Zanarkand is their best.

I don't know really, IMO to zanarkand basically sums up everything that's about final fantasy as a whole and puts it in the most modest way ever. what's funny is that i actually thought The Sunlit Earth, while indeed mind blowing, was trying to hard to show it's "epicness".
