I really enjoyed LO, i'll take a game made by the guy who did FF1-10(Hironobu Sakaguchi) over the guy who did 12 (which i didn't like) but hopefully they've improved since.Looking forward to playing FFXIII on the PS3, cant see myself playing a FF game on the 360.

I still have to try LO, I hear its a lot like the old FF games. I didnt really like FF 12, but I liked all the ones before it.

FF XIII is said to be fully rendered CGI the whole time or most of the game or something, or so I heard.
FFXIII won't push the PS3 as hard as any game I listed, except maybe Heavy Rain. Guaranteed.[QUOTE="lolfaqs"][QUOTE="TheGrat1"]No way in hell. Heavy Rain, Uncharted 2, KZ2, Resistance 2 > FFXIII.TheGrat1

I decided long ago that all of this "percentage of power use" is just BS. And I'm a PS3 fan. Either a game looks good and is utilizing the hardware well, or it's not.Timstuff
very true, too many developers out there are feeding the whole fanboy war bullcrap, im not surprised SE has long become one of those.
And if I could ask them one question, do they even know what 100% of the PS3's power is? I mean...this is their FIRST PS3 game.
First 10-disc 360 game confirmed?
lolfaqs
Only if this confirms the PS3 has been been maxed out and has no room for improvement. :P
No one uses the 100% of a console only 3 years after the console was released. Besides, it's a multiplat ;)IronBass
Nah, many games uses "100%" of the console's power, optimizing efficiently is another story.

It's a multiplat built from the ground up on the PS3, then ported to the 360. ;)
so its like the opposite of all ps3/360 multiplats?[QUOTE="IronBass"]No one uses the 100% of a console only 3 years after the console was released. Besides, it's a multiplat ;)lolfaqs

I still stand by what I said. I'll even add Metal Gear Solid 4 to that list.[QUOTE="GTSaiyanjin2"]I really enjoyed LO, i'll take a game made by the guy who did FF1-10(Hironobu Sakaguchi) over the guy who did 12 (which i didn't like)but hopefully they've improved since. Sakaguchi didn't have any thing major to do with a Final Fantasy title after FF5 before leaving Square. As for FFXII it didn't come out the way it was planed dueYasumi Matsuno becoming ill then leaving Square (Becasue President Wada is an evil SOB!)Looking forward to playing FFXIII on the PS3, cant see myself playing a FF game on the 360.

ok, 5-disc game then?
how about 1 disk with install? :| side note: 100% usage? still nothing big, like 100% of the PS3's power is alot [QUOTE="lolfaqs"][QUOTE="porky_ownsu"] ever heard of compression. its this new thing.GTR2addict

PR bull. They said themselves early in the generation that to achieve what they do in CGI in realtime is impossible. Their rendering hardware takes a lot more time and renders models that are orders of magnitude more complex than anything they use in realtime models (millions of pieces per character compared to thousands). Not even current or next-gen PC hardware can achieve the effect (though they're stepping closer with support for hardware tesselation).Everytime a dev say 100% they are full of crap. There are always 100 ways to do things better and more efficiant. Them saying 100% just means they are not the best or do not know the best way to get things done.wooooodeWhat if they are? I mean, you can reach limits, just like there are few more efficient ways to sort out a list than a binary tree sort. Similarly, once you've learned all you can about efficient programming techniques from experience and the Internet and get close to the metal (hand-tuned assembler) it's hard to squeeze much more performance out of a machine.

The way I understand them, it's built from the ground up on a PC first (Crystal Tools is PC-based) then ported to each platform accordingly.[QUOTE="MotoJ19"][QUOTE="GTSaiyanjin2"]

LO is like FF just with no summons, the very same old spells used a thousand times before and crying kids.. The game is OK and probally the best JRPG out at the moment, however it really is too old style - why use the same damn spells that every other FF game have used? =/ The good thing is the ring system while fighting but that only goes for melee attacks and not magic..[QUOTE="lolfaqs"]
[QUOTE="MotoJ19"]
But it's also out for the 360?
The port is, yes.
Will be so damn funny when the PORT runs/looks better like almost evry multiplat games:lol: uh that is because they've ported it from xbox>ps3, this time it's ps3>xbox.. I'm sure there's been something about this somehwere on the site.. it was something about the PS3 being harder to port to than the xbox 360. So when the game has been made for the ps3 it's easier to do a fast port to the xbox 360.. I imagine both games to be equally graphically amazing. I would almost pity you If you believe that SE would make an inferior ps3 FF game.. It would destroy them..[QUOTE="IronBass"]No one uses the 100% of a console only 3 years after the console was released. Besides, it's a multiplat ;)lolfaqs

What's your point? :|PS3-->360 porting shows LITTLE to NO difference, it's the other way around, and Crystal Tools is a MULTIPLAT engine, say it with me, MULTIPLAT.
Do I need to repeat this in EVERY FFXIII thread? :|
And technically the PS3 one is also a port, because it's made on the PC.
if the full game uses 100% of the ps3 and the 360 runs it just as good, then that would mean both consoles are in fact equal , apart from the number of discs and that doesn't really matter once you have installed it to the HDD you will only need the first disc.delta3074
When the port looks worse on the 360 Lemmings can always claim the lazy devs.
Cows are doing that for over 2 years with almost every game now !!

and 50gb install for ps3 owners, oh wait the 40gb owners will have to get a new hdd. This thread just further confirms for me that Cell is pointless, it is a CPU adapted for some GPU work; yet everyone is talking about it like its sole purpose is enhancing graphics.
The PS3 would have been a lot better off if it had just used a more powerful GPU.
