Assassins creed 2 (2009) vs Red dead Redemption 2 (2018/19) - Which is better of two open world games?

Red Dead Redemption 2 gets my vote.

games fall in same genre, released in different times albiet deserve comparision.

This is so one sided there's really no point.

Also, I rarely used the cover mechanic in RDR2, first person mode made that easy, having say thyme big game meat and potent snake oil or chewing tobacco keeps the red eye meter full and there's similar buffers for health.

RDR2's pacing also is up to player, attack main missions or get distracted hunting or doing whatever challenges and side missions and whatnot fill the game, or play dominos or whatever, there's enough to mix it up and the pacing is better for it.

I also dislike the whole Ezio stretch of series and thought it detailed what could have been a better series, made worse with the still in development mysterious story arc that concluded about as disastrous as Lost.

AC2 is the better game. RDR2 was a long slog that I couldn't be bothered to finish. AC2 was a lot of fun all the way through.

don't think I even finished AC2, which is pretty overrated in general IMO

I played RDR2 for over 300h. Don't think i spent more than 10 minutes taking cover. Pointless mechanic that limits your movement. Ghost uses it because he has trouble playing the game 😊

Sorry, sniper, but AC2 didn't age well. At least compared to modern open world standards.

i stopped playing any ass creed game since the 2nd one. rdr2 is just way better imo

in combat you only take cover and shoot plus its one of the easiest game of all time. devoid of any challange. just use dead eye, and shoot shoot. when not in combat you are doing some boring chores ie nothing.

Both bad games but RDR2's attention to detail, insanely detailed world, and great casting put it far above AC2 which just sucks.

Tough, but RDR2. Although AC2 has a lot of great stuff going on, too. I miss the smaller multiple locations.
