Guys this game really good and at time can be brutal, but its worth the 40 bucks that it's asking for.

Played a few hours when it first hit gamepass. It’s ok but did grab me as much as dark souls.
Below is great as well and came out today
The game looks excellent, there's nothing bad I can say bout this game. Great game Lems, you should demand more.
A little salty it's not on PS4.
I may have to actually use my gaming PC for something other than a past gen console simulator now.
Since this is a system wars thread I'll add:
You Lems should thank Sony (For supporting the original development of such a niche and low expected selling game like Demon's Souls), Sony fans (for supporting the original Demon's Souls leading to subsequent Dark Souls titles) and Japanese game devs (from Software) for inspiring a sub-genre "Souls-like" that has lead to the best game Xbox 1 has received this entire generation.
I know this is indie level, but this is a high production value game regardless.
Demon's Souls Still proving to be the most influential game in the past decade. Have to give credit to GameSpot for getting it right in 2009 giving Demon's GOTY when everyone else was choosing UC2.

I'm not doing gamesass shit, where do I buy it?
Do I have to use a Microsoft specific launcher or can I get it through Steam?

Why would you play most of your games on PS4 over your PC? Almost all major releases this gen were far better on PC. Unless your PC sucks that is.
Going to be honest with you man, I don't play most shitty multiplats...I never have my entire time as a gamer.
A multiplat has to be fapping amazing in my eyes for me to actually consider buying it. The only mutiplats I have no issue purchasing regularly are Fighters and RPGs. Personally I prefer playing Fighters on my console, but I would be open to play RPGs on my PC (like Ashen).
TL;DR:
I don't buy most uninspired annual rehash mediocre multiplats.
The reason I got PC was specifically for the ability to play past gen consoles but I was open to the idea of playing good PC exclusives if I found them...after searching the Steam store I realized the ladder didn't have much hope for me.

You cows should thank Nintendo so the original Nintendo Playstation never made it, and you wouldn't be playing all your games now
What if you don't enjoy Dark Souls-style games? Is it one that might win someone over?
I've tried Dark Souls 3, Surge, and Nioh...didn't like them.

1. Nioh Isn't souls like...it's more actually far more punishing than Souls
2. Surge is a poor mans dark souls
3. I stopped playing DS3 because it felt uninspired to me.
To find out if you really like what souls games offer you HAVE to play either Demon's Souls or Dark Souls 1. Bloodborne is also another alternative if you have a PS4.
That said, the review system Ashen is easier than Souls so you may enjoy it more.

Nioh isn't souls-like? I thought the whole thing to being a souls-like game is A.) brutal challenge and B.) lots of dying.

Well yeah, but it's a different tone and focus.
Nioh is more skill based with emphasis on execution closer to a hard core beat'em up with a much deeper and complex move list.
Nioh is like a more punishing Ninja Gaiden/DMC only with slower player traversal. I admit the atmosphere is similar to Souls but the gameplay is alot more dedicated and focused.
But yeah...you're going to die a lot in either one.
This would be a nice title to get on the X. I am hungry for new for games for it, but at the same time not in the mood for another Souls-like right now. Smash is garnering too much of my rage right now for me to play another brutal game (in case you're wondering, yes, Smash is brutal when you're doing some of the World of Light matches).
Maybe in the future, like on sale or something.

I read somewhere that it uses Kinect. Can it be played without it?
It looks incredibly dull. Not only in terms of gameplay, but the tone of the game. While I understand minimalism having a place in design, this took it a little too far.
I just got Subnautica for free on the Epic Games store, and I find that far more intriguing.
Look good,
It remind me Journey with DarkSoul gameplay.
PS4's indie rendition and alternative Souls game that many people also may have missed out on. (better than DS2 and 3 imo)
Salt & Sanctuary is an awesome game.
...and available on all platforms including Mac and Linux
.....except Xbox for some reason.

What? Kinect? News to me. There has been nothing from the hour I have played that indicated such. With that said, it can be played without the Kinect.
From GameSpot.
Below is a classic rogue tale where you'll scour the open world in search of rare and special loot while battling the malevolent Darkness, an AI-controlled character which uses Kinect to sense and change level progression based on the rooms surroundings.
I'm kinda curious how that works. I had a Kinect, but it accidentally got thrown away when I was trading my old Xbox One in for the X.
