As expected, Amazon is working on a game streaming service.

Nobody should be surprised that Amazon is entering the fray.

so what games will they be streaming? the same games xbox/PS4/PC already have?

they might make some money off amazon fans but they need to offer something new to beat the big boys.

Disagree, in the TV and movie streaming space, there's lots of services. But like many people have said, if you're not a cloud player then you pretty much can't compete at scale.

They should finance a 'What the box?' sequel set in an Amazon warehouse as their first exclusive title.

Verizon getting in on the action also, could be placeholders but verizon screen that was shown has some Sony Games like God of War, Detroit, and Knack. Wonder if Sony might be teaming up with Verizon......

Amazon have the potential to become a big player.

They have their own game engine which they are building an MMO on, which Star Citizen is also being built on now. Besides Microsoft Azure, there is nothing that rivals AWS currently.

That is all the Big 3 players in Cloud now in gaming. Sony is going to have to find another way and is going to regret not getting into this space years ago. I know they have invested into it some, but be realistic it was peanuts compared to what the Big 3 have spent and they have ways to monetize it besides gaming.

The more I hear about Cloud computing the more amazing (yet confusing) it gets. There is a dude on YouTube named Brad Sams (Who is a neutral) he has leaked a lot of things that came true and recommend you check him out, as he has some interesting info about future cloud. It's not just simple streaming.

They’ll be making money off of those who prefer a Firestick over a console which is a lot of people these days. Curious what types of games they’ll be able to stream. Amazon has some deep wallets so I wouldn’t underestimate them.

Still waiting for the proof of concept that streaming is preferable over a local computing device.

Fanboys.

I mean we're living in a world where pc gamers think that epic, another website offering games, is a bad thing and that valve should be the only one offering games to pc gamers.

@kali-b1rd: 'cept that the epic store is everything but a good "option" for consumers. Everything about it is made to bolster profits of companies regardless of how shitty the games they release on the platform are.
