Apple > Microsoft. Time for an Apple console?

Microsoft: $219.18 billion

As of today Apple is worth more than Microsoft. Maybe it is time for the age old-rumor of Apple buying EA to come true so they can get into the console business and possibly grow further.

I, for one, would not want to support a new console. I want less consoles to buy not more.

I already consider the itouch a console, inferior to the DS and PSP sure imho but it still has a pretty strong library, much stronger then a simple mobile phone tbh with you.

iPhone is trash anyways. Apple would probably make their console like $1000 too...because you know they're known for things like that:

I can see it now, it will launch for $700, and be half the power of a wii, not to mention it will require a special ethernet cable and require you to have an iphone to turn it on.

LOL budget gamer when an ipad costs mroe than 500 dollars, sorry id rather build a **** PC and play steam gams or buy PS3 witht that moneyz.

Why do people keep assisting that apple is going to go into the console market because they are doing good? Newsflash they have been doing good for the past decade! I doubt it highly that they are going to go and spend billions and billions on EA, then spend another couple of billion to place a consoles on the market that is going to overpriced at first which they are going to get nothing but losses for a long period of time. Its not a great financial decision for them to get into the console market. A.) Its flooded as is with 3, history speaks for itself, just look at the 3DO, JAGUAR, SEGA. There is more just can't think of the names. Apple is doing good because they are making products that appeal to people and their products hit everyone. Video games would hit gamers and casuals. Not everyone who has a macbook, ipod is going to just go and spend more money on a console because it has an apple on the front of it.

Patents are never rumored, there registration is fully public so everyone know (isn't that what they are for lol?)
