its a 360/pc game, pc version is currently on hold and that doesnt mean its not coming to pc. im 100% sure its gonna be timed 360 exclusive at most. the devs never said pc version was cancelled or its exclusive on 360, they said they are currently focusing on 360 version
Is it confirmed that there will be a PC version later on, or is nothing official? Because if it's been confirmed, then you can't count this as a 360 exclusive, since it will be on the PC at some point. If nothing about a PC version has been confirmed, then yes of course Alan Wake should be considered a 360 exclusive.
edit- Or I guess it would be counted as a 'timed exclusive" until a PC version is possibly released, right? :P
Uh, if it's on multiple platforms, it's not exclusive. When cows have said MLB The Show games are exclusives, lems are quick to point out that these games are also on PS2 and PSP, therefore these games are not exclusive. The same appiles to PC/360 games. It doesn't matter who the dev/publisher is. Sony publishes MLB The Show, but they're not exclusive to the PS3.developed by Remedy and published by Microsoft. so how is this not an exclusive game?
pitty8982
The PC version is "on hold". Just like the Wii version of Civ Rev was "on hold", and that never appeared. The day you can play it on PC it's multiplat. Until then, exclusive :)locopathoPretty much this sums it up perfectly.
I agree but it isn't "pure fanboy speculation" it's common sense, the game was first showed on PC and nobody has said the PC version is dead, they just ignore the question with "were only doing the 360 version no" which = timed exclusive. Either way it's 360 exclusive for now.

So the fact that there is NO official statement saying that Alan Wake is going to be on PC as of yet that still doesn't make it exclusive? Are we playing that game now?
It will most likely come on PC. That's how.developed by Remedy and published by Microsoft. so how is this not an exclusive game?
pitty8982
In the end of the day it's still a game that the PS3 doesn't have. Chrome-Look up the definition of "exclusive" it doesn't say "any game not on the PS3".

I guess we are playing that game now. Let's discredit a game being exclusive because it "MIGHT" come to PC eventually. Amazing.

Read my first post in this thread.Uh, if it's on multiple platforms, it's not exclusive. Sony publishes MLB The Show, but they're not exclusive to the PS3. so those cows and lems who are so obsessed with immaculate games need a serious help. if I were Microsoft I'd make Alan Wake a limited time exclusive for the xbox 360, so it can sell a fair amount of copies, later on I'd release it for Pc, so it'd sell another fair amount of copies. and me, xbox 360 owner, would not mind at all. why should I?[QUOTE="pitty8982"]

It's a 360 exclusive no matter how you look at it. While I expect a PC version since the original footage was all PC and I think it's going to release 6 months down the road, the fact there is no official word on this means it's a 360 exclusive no matter how you spin it.
[QUOTE="pitty8982"]It will most likely come on PC. That's how.in the same way gears 2,fable 2 and halo 3 where most likely to come to PC, alan wake was announced on the PC and then 'put on hold', that's not good news, a game that is announced for a particular platform and then put on hold doesn't usually appear, read between the lines, MS have probably covered all the dev costs for this game, they are publishing it as a 360 exclusive, the fact that gears 2,fable 2 and halo 3 are not on the PC shows a trend that MS is keeping the best of the games it publish for the 360, thus trying to cement there position in the console market, trust me, it's highly unlikely there will be a PC versiondeveloped by Remedy and published by Microsoft. so how is this not an exclusive game?

here in SW, people, especially cows, believe that if you get a game for X console and it's exclusive and then after a while it happens to become a multiplat, then you can call it a disgrace, cause you're doomed to infinite vexation. according to the testimony of historians, many people experienced paranormal events during the exclusive-multiplat transition such as game disintegration, demoniac voices in the room, convulsions, rrod-ing eyes, alien abductions, near death experiences, out of body experiences.
Pure fanboy speculation would be more like an Exclusive game being suggested to become a multiplatform game with no previous mention of it ever being considered for release on any another console *ala* MGS4
There is still 3 previous years of ground work the developers have laid down that's just sitting there on the PC, Saying the gameis not currently exclusive on 360 is fanboyish, but saying that it's pure fanboy specualtion is unrealistic.
Pure speculation doesn't mean jack. As it is, it's only on Xbox 360 for the time being, thus it's exclusive.
Oh, and it won't be on PC... ever. I warned ya'll.
Who cares? The game looks terribly meh.VandalvideoOpinions vary but I've like what I've seen lately. :P

The PC version is currently listed as "indefinitely postponed" which if we are talking about current times, means that Alan Wake is an exclusive regardless of how cows/hermits/sheeps (lol) see it ;)its a 360/pc game, pc version is currently on hold and that doesnt mean its not coming to pc. im 100% sure its gonna be timed 360 exclusive at most. the devs never said pc version was cancelled or its exclusive on 360, they said they are currently focusing on 360 version

Well wasn't Ninja Gaiden Published by Microsoft too? Doesn't change anything, this also holds true for ME 1 and 2 going to the PS3 as well.
Agreed, until we see the PC version in stores, it's only on 360.
mitu123
I still see it as a timed exclusive and hope it is.. I don't feel like shelling out extra cash for a 360 just to play a game I've been waiting nearly half a decade for:cry:.
.. Then again maybe I should go ahead and buy one.:P

Nah they would have wasted too much work if they didn't release a PC version. IMO, but MS could talk with their wallet

difference being is that we know what GoW3 is and what Heavy Rain is, they have both gotten better as the cycle has gone on. AW on the other has been downgraded over and over, just deal with it.[QUOTE="sanim02"][QUOTE="mitu123"]

Also the 360's structure is very close to the PC which is why there are so many PC/360 games instead of PC/PS3 games.

First of all neither one of you has played any of the games yall mentioned except for maybe God of War 3 which I'm also skeptical about anyways.
Also neither one of you have played Heavy Rain nor have you played Alan Wake so stop giving out lame reasons as to why the game will suck. If it isn't your type of game, fine I respect that but it is of others taste so basically people who say God of War, Heavy Rain and Alan Wake will be "awesome.. just awesome..:|" are basically a minority in my book.

Neither have you played Alan Wake yet. It lost it's open world. I will still play this game because I have been waiting almost a half a decade for this title.
