Dark Souls is RPG of the decade.

Nioh was my favorite game of that bunch, albeit I hate the rpg part. Game would be so hype if they went all in on the action game part.

Otherwise I guess Dark Souls, tho Divinity: Original Sin isn't too shabby. Still need to get around to playing the sequel.

The sequel is honestly a tier above.

Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Ni No Kuni, Tales, Valkyria, Warhammer, Borderlands, Disgaea, Dragon Quest, Fire Emblem, Kingdom Hearts, Paper Mario, Phantasy Star, Risen, Atelier, Banner Saga, Dungeon Defenders, Van Helsing, Monster Hunter, Sword Art, Neptunia, Middle Earth, Assassins Creed, Might and Magic, Mordheim, Sword Coast, Victor Vran, .hack, Blue Reflection, Vampyr, Code Vein, Dragon Star, Romancing Saga. Just to name a few more. (a few are questionably RPG's but still have the elements if nothing else)

Agreed - now 33 hours into it since Christmas (a level of diving in I can never bring myself to for most games these days) and DQXIS really needs to be on that list

Agreed, i'm about 40 hours in myself.

Yeah another mistake , sometimes the lines get blurry so much that it's hard to distinguish the genre but I loved how 2019 ended , Disco Elysium was a helluva ride for me , if you ask me it's story is too good for a video game

The Age of Decadence is one big game of trial and error. Be prepared to start the game from the beginning several times because you suddenly meet a skill check in a skill you've never needed before and you can't continue otherwise.

Dark Souls 1/3 and The Witcher 2/3 gave me some of my best gaming memories in the last 10 years.

great games... a lists starts with fonv and ends in disco elysium. What a time to be alive!

The Tales of games (Xillia, Zestiria, and Berseria) are sorely missing from this list, as is Fell Seal (an excellent, challenging Tactics Ogre/Final Fantasy Tactics clone).

thanks , that looks really interesting , I'll put it on the list , btw I've finished tales of Berseria about 3 years ago and I loved the main story , the whole concept of evil inside and humans being inherently good or evil , that's heavy shit ... but the narrative progression wasn't good enough , the silly dialogues maligned the story. maybe that's me I never liked Japanese liner stories where you have no choices

Skyrim & Witcher 3 as #1 & #2 RPGs of the decade imo.
