4K Players on Sale

Amazon is having an early Black Friday deal. They have a couple of 4K players at about 50% off. The Sony X-800 (the one I got) and the Samsung M5700. Both are about $150.

If you've been waiting for prices to go down, perhaps now is the time.

Best Buy will have the same sale on Black Friday including an LG if you prefer that brand.

The xb1s was shown to be a pretty mediocre 4k BR player..........I would be surprised if they bothered to up the quality in that portion of the box at all.

Now there's no reason to buy an X1X.

and this is not a troll comment, I got a dolby atmos system on the set up, still got a few things to save up for, but I my XBR65X900E is coming along nicely.

I would hold off any major purchases until the HDMI 2.1 hardware starts rolling out. 4K Blu-ray will be unaffected, but I would not buy an AVR or TV right now with HDMI 2.1 just around the corner.

Wonder how a dedicated 4k player compares to the X; have mine hooked up to an X930E and was quite pleased with the few movies (just The Fifth Element actually) i did watch on the X. Don't know if to attribute it to the quality of the master or the quality of the player. That was my first 4k bluray viewing, the rest of my 4k content has been digital and/or streams and the bump in IQ was very apparent, if a dedicated player would improve upon that even further then it would be something i would definitely consider purchasing.

I've got 2 Samsung 65" 4KTVs and 1 LG 27" 4K monitor.

The best 4k player is the Oppo. It cost about the same as the Xbox One X but doesn't play any 4k games. lol
