2001 classic, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance gets surprise re-release, releases tomorrow (5/7/21).

My parents loved this on PS2 and I had the... admittedly flawed GBA port, which was still fun. I admit I was kind of expecting the XBOX Classic version to be backwards compatible, but still.

Also, another case of a GameCube game getting on Switch before most of Nintendo's classics (minus Mario Sunshine).

Interesting. I really enjoyed the two Baldur’s Gate games on the PC but never did try these games. They did look like they could be pretty fun and I did hear positive feedback on them. I might have to check this one out someday.

@djoffer123: Oh yeah, I know they’re different genres and all that but I enjoy both those types of games anyway and this always looked like a pretty fun game to me. Just never got around to playing it back then.

I loved this game, BG:DA2, and the Champions of Norrath series back in the day!

However.., $30 for a rerelease with no additional changes other than 4k & no online multiplayer function? Cash grab much? 🤔

If they also release Champions of Norrath and DA2....my god that would be epic, those 2 games and DA were probably my 3 most played games during the PS2 era besides FF11 that came with a Hard Drive for the PS2 so you could even play it XD.

Kinda cool for nostalgia reasons, but I feel like a lot of games came later that were basically this but better.

Enjoyed the game and its sequel in my younger days, but find the genre kinda dull now.

I liked the more actiony direction Lord of the Rings War in the North and Untold Legends Dark Kingdom took. But they took out a bit too much on the RPG side.

Seriously. If this was like £15 maybe consider it, but they are absolutely taking the piss at that price.

For comparison the Homeworld Remastered collection was £29.99, with 2 remasters as well as the original games. Clearly had a shit ton of effort put into it.

Remastered game from 1999 that looks better than the Remastered PS2 game.

@lamprey263: I doubt it, TBH. It's kind of a weird spinoff of the series into an action oriented experience in the wake of Diablo's success. If you have no love for BG or Diablo it may be kind of the worst of both worlds
