The single player gameplay has not been revealed yet. The co-op gameplay was discussed in the Game Informer article and it sounds like it is going to be the most exciting implementation of co-op in a game to date so far. The gameplay of the online multiplayer is also something that has never been done before, and given Insomniac's track record it will be done pretty well.

I am sorry but I think it might get delayed. Most big games do so I would be surprised if it does make it out this fall.

Resistance 2 looks very promising, can't wait.

Yeah, but it doesn't go into much detail. I guess we'll have to just wait and see.

6-8 person squads with their individual war time objectives to accomplish and help their side win the overall battle during a 60 person war.... so it'll basically be a huge battlefield with plenty of individual skirmishes and clans having to work together for one side to win... different than anything before it and it should be cool to see how it works. Either way, the multiplayer from the first game still has some pretty fun modes anyway.

yeh it wasnt the best ... but it had heaps of potential ... especially if you got a good 40 player game going on the rooftops.

but yeh soem of the maps were a bit bad ...

Neither of Insomniac's other big games have been delayed so far this gen. It's unlikely that this one will be either. They've been the single hardest working studio this gen... not only are they releasing their games on time, each one has been released to critical acclaim for their technical merits and fun gameplay... so it's not as if they release quick rehashes.

The only reason they are able to release their games so fast is b/c their game engine is specifically designed for the PS3 architecture so it's all that their devs work on... and they have a pretty decent size staff.

This sentence from the article is what caught my eye.

Glitches are fixed everytime one is found and exploited. Game has had 6 or so patches already...

You can't play 40 players on Rooftops...

nice find TC. Lemme just start off with this. Thank god for devs like Insomniac. This game is gonna be godly. The first one was great and this one looks to be head and shoulders above that or most any FPS released in recent memory.

I think this is going to be PS3s equivelant to Halo 3 as far as Multiplayer goes. black_awpN1

wow. i never really wanted to play the first one but i just might have to play it so i can get into the second one. and the multiplayer aspect sounds really interesting.exiledsnake

You should've played the first one if you like fps. One of the more interesting stories ever in an fps, the best weapon variety in an fps, and a very solid multiplayer element (although there are currenlty better multiplayer games available). But Resistance's multiplayer was among the best available when it came out and I expect that Resistance 2 will continue the trend.

R2 and KZ2 will be one hell of a 1, 2 punch if Sony markets them right. Then the hook will be FF13 in ealy 2009. All PS3 owners will be knocked out by the greatness.

Gears 2 (assuming it comes in 2008 ) will have a very very tough time matching Resistance 2EVOLV3

......Not really,the games arnt even alike,plus GeOW was all ready miles ahead, so its for RFoM to catch up,it will still be fun but i doubt it will surpass GeOW,I prefer small teambased tactics then all out Fragfest,and if i did want fragfests id play Halo3

Then Resistance 2 multiplayer should be right up your ally in a tactical sense. There will be multiple teams on the map and up to 8 people per team (60 total). Each squad will consit of medic, sniper, and heavy specialists. You will need to battle your way around the huge maps while completing various objectives. A leveling system is supposed to be included to.

If you ask me that is the biggest improvement for any FPS console multiplayer. It's like a combination of Team Fortress 2 and COD4 which is a recipe for success if you ask me.
