They don't have any links for it yet but NFL.com just said that Randy Moss was released today by the Vikes. Personally for me this kind of sucks as a Vikes fan but I'm that surprised since there were many plays when he was here that he didn't go 100% like the last play a couple weeks ago when the Vikes played the Packers. Reactions?

Surprising...but it really started to look like he didn't want to be there any more. It barely looked like he was trying.

Sooo the Vikings pretty much just threw away a 3rd round pick. The Vikings organization is a joke.

They continue to overpay and aquire old, over the hill players. Their whole team is just old this season. Its a young mans game. They need a couple solid drafts before being considered contenders again IMO.

I truly believe thats where he has heart set. I don't think he got over being traded. It was a short "fun ride".

Hey, if the Jags sign him then maybe Garrard will throw for like 8 TDs in their next game!

Well, hopefully he finds a good team. He made history, and he doesn't deserve to be on a team that he obviously doesn't like playing for.

Well, I think he laid his own bed...Even in NE he wasn't trying the whole time. Still, I think if no one picks him up in the 24h NE will get him again.

I don't think NE will pick him up, one receiver took his place in terms of deep passes last week. They don't need him.

Its seems he wasn't happy because he hardly got the ball. I don't know about Oakland but he did fine before the ball got to him less and less.

Moss plays only for himself. I've seen him take plays off and even let balls hit him in the hands only to bounce off purposely. It's sad, if fully motivated and focused he can be a serious threat. Though, I feel he doesn't deserve to wear an NFL uniform for his selfish behavior.

Ok? And? Just because a player doesn't get the ball doesn't give them an excuse to not try or not catch a TD pass that is 3 feet away. Come on man, there is NO defending him.

Lol I wouldn't be surprised.

Still a lot of teams are just as desperate in needing a deep threat. I just question Moss's lack of effort.

I find it shocking a completely stupid for the Vikings to do. Not only did they now just give a third rounder away for free, but they got rid of what is guaranteed to be a HoF receiver and perhaps the best receiver since Jerry Rice on a whim. He may have a bad attitude, shown with the press conference and the bad game, but seriously, Childress should be able to change that. He should SOLVE problems, not get rid of them.

This isn't Randy Moss' fault, this is Minnesota's fault. And probably more accurately Brad Childress' fault. Moss doesn't give his all during every play? Umm...so? He's one of the best wide receiver's of all time. That doesn't mean anything. They weren't trying to get him the ball in the first place. What's so stupid to me is that Randy Moss has been playing for 13 years. Everyone, and I mean every organization knows what kind of player he is on and off the field. The Vikings knew what they were bringing to the team. And so did Chilly. They don't throw the ball his way the entire game, even though the replays showed him getting WIDE open the entire game, and he starts to give up towards the end of the game, and the Vikings are mad about that? He's been doing that his whole career. Give me a break. They send a third rounder for this guy and cut him just a few weeks later instead of trying to work with him. Albeit, not every organization wants to put up with that, but when you make a move like that, the message you're sending is we're going to take this guy and work with him the entire year. That's the difference between the Patriots organization and the Vikings. The Pats get the best out of the players they get. The Vikings don't. Their coach is, quite frankly, a moron who wants to cause a schism in that locker room just to satisfy his own ego. Why do you think Matt Birk went to the Ravens for the SAME amount of money that the Vikings offered him? In the end, Randy Moss isn't the loser here. He's going to go to another team and finish out the year. The only person who looks stupid is Chilly.

Also, I doubt it was because of this play. He must of said something that turned everyones stomach. He already appeared to be in a bad mood judging by how he reacted to the fine for not speaking to the media and his response to the media. I bet hes to the point where he just will retire soon.

That's a little extreme, what an awful person? He quits on plays sometimes, definitely. That play I'm not so sure about. He drew the contact and took his eyes off the ball while trying to regain his balance. If you've ever played football, you know when you take your eyes off the ball, it's tough to come back to that ball and know where it is.

I highly doubt it. They have enough weapons as it is at the Receiver position they just kill themselves all of the time with penalties and such.

NE is the team that has the worse chance at signing him. Waivers work like this Team with the worse record have a chance at getting him first, second worse team next, etc. Since NE has the best record in the NFL they have the smallest chance at getting him.
