No, they really wouldn't lol. I'd love for Snyder to actually spend money on someone who's worth it though... Would be hilarious if Peyton made a big deal of himself like Lebron!

No way. Only reasons Peyton hasn't signed yet are because he doesn't want a contract handed to him before the end of a season and because of the potential lockout. If he plays at all it'll be for the Colts, unless the Colts don't want him back which I don't see happening until he starts playing the way Favre did this season.

You keep saying that like you know what he wants. And with no evidence to back it up, all possibilities are open at this point.

Really?

Early on at least. There was just those Knick fans who were making a big deal about wanting him but his 2nd to last year in CLE all assumed (most) he would stay.

Ummm...I didn't assume that. I pretty much knew before the start of last season that Lebron was out of Cleveland, he had been complaining for forever that they didn't surround him with enough talent. Peyton's a whole different situation, he's been with this team a long time, they've done a lot for each other, the Colts are basically built around him, and he's an integral part of their offense, plus he gets the freedom to do the things he wants at the line and in the hurry-up. THere would have to be quite the falling out for him to be on the same terms with Indy that Lebron was with the Cavs.

lolwut. Most NBA fans assumed/knew that if the Cavs didn't win a ring, Lebron would be gone.

With that said, I don't see Peyton leaving the Colts. I'd be pretty shocked if it happens.

No, he hasn't sign an extension. Both Brady and Manning had one-year left on their deals. Brady signed an extension in September, however, Manning has yet to sign one.

Depends... "Colts president Bill Polian doesn't sound like he's in a rush to get a new deal done with quarterback Peyton Manning, who is heading into the final year of his contract... Although Manning is scheduled to become a free agent in 2011, the uncertain labor situation means there are big questions that neither side can answer, such as the Colts would still have the franchise tag available to them - or whether there's even going to be football at all in 2011." http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/08/12/bill-polian-no-deadline-no-timeline-for-peyton-manning-contract/

Now, If you asking me if I think Peyton Manning will be anywhere else besides Indy, I would laugh, because I can say with confidence he will stay. However, LBJ, now I know some and a lot knew/thought he would leave but at some point nobody could picture him leaving CLE at one point in his career.

That Colts defense would make any QBs playing for the Colts a living nightmare. Having the weight on his shoulders to win every single game on his own? Thats crazy, even Brady doesnt have to deal with that.

This was before he signed the 3 year extension in 07 then. After that, the countdown to 2010 free agency began and after each playoff elimination it looked more & more likely he was taking his "talents" elsewhere.

We're on the same boat in regards to whether Peyton will leave though. I literally cannot picture him in any other teams' uniform.

Yea this is exactly how it played out. Brett Favre retires from the NFL as a Packer. He realizes he wants to return and play quickly after, Packers already have Rodgers ready and kinda don't want him back. Favre wants a trade to the Vikings. Packers decline and trade him to Jets. He then plays for Jets. Retires after the season, then unretires to join Vikings. Little mini soap opera lol

Yeah, just read an article on ESPN and if the jets traded favre to the jets they would have to give up 3 1st round picks to the packers.

I doubt it. For 2 reasons 1- Peyton Manning seems like the loyal type. 2- He'd have to learn a new system, and get accustomed to new receivers(I'd take the COlts weapons over the 49ers offense any day of the week). Remember the hissy fit he was throwing when Tom Moore was ready to retire? I doubt he can handle another grand change. He's better doing what he does in Indy. They need to build a team around him though.

Colts will franchise tag Manning. This may keep Polian here in Indy which makes me sick so I lose no matter what.

DeViLzzz
Polian has been one of the best in terms of drafting talent over the years. Admittedly he's been hella weak lately(Donald Brown, Anthony Gonzalez, and Mike Pollack all being weak additions to that offense), but he's hardly the issue. What he does need to do though is fix that line/defense. Maybe the Colts need to get more free agency happy for once.

Payton started his career in Indy that where it will end. Unless he pulls a favre and not an elway.
