Sorry, sir, no opinions allowed here. *writes you a ticket*
That's okay, man. I just love the overall theme and the action looks fun and fast-paced, so I'm looking forward to this.

I think it's worse but it's close and I don't care to really try to compare as they're both horrible. No singing. Make the singing stop!
Really?
I liked (most of) the songs from all the games I've played.
Namely,
Open Your Heart, It Doesn't Matter, Throw It All Away, Live and Learn, Danced in Fire, Team Chaotix, What I'm Made Of, I Am, All Hail Shadow (SNG ver.), Waking Up, Never Turn Back, and finally SRIH.
Tagged for those who don't really care what I like.
Sonic looks more cooler with a sword, imo(in my opinion)
Wonder if Tails is going to be in this game.
So far, they've only revealed Knuckles (two swords) and Shadow (one sword) as playable characters.
And Sonic, of course, but that's implied.
I am thinking people thought the same when they saw Shadow with guns thinking a Sonic game with guns what could go wrong.
Sonic with guns seems kinda stupid, I thought Shadow with guns seemed kinda cool but they didn't make it very good lookin :?GaMa729
Well the other problem was that Shadow had cool powers without the guns. This was brought out more in Sonic Next Gen (I know that's not a good example) where Shadow had more use of his powers. He could use "Chaos Spear" which allowed him to stun enemies then use his sort of "kung-fu" like homing attack.
Really if you had cool super powers, why would you bother with a gun. It would be like puting a glock in Superman's hands.
Listen loads of characters have tried new things like Banjo,Fox and Mario Kart. Many critcised games trying something new but when they go back to making a game what it should be. A simple example Twilight Princess was hugely critcised for being to similar to Ocarina of Time. You just sometimes can't please fans.
I am actually starting to like this game a little more. It has potential as long as it keeps the Sonic speed in it then I am fine.

As my idol, Yahtzee of Zero Punctation pointed out in his Silent Hill: Homecoming review "why should you do anything for fans? Fans are whiny complainers who are never happy no matter what you do and the minute you drown out their shrill cries, the better off you are."
I just wonder what the Black Knight will be like...DarkSmokeNinja
Details are sketchy despite NP's lengthy article.
It's in the vein of "Sonic and the Secret Rings" so it's probably another one of these "Sonic falls asleep reading a book about King Arthur and awakens in medieval times." He's given a sword and sent on a test of knighthood to defeat the Evil Black Knight (this game's Erazor Djinn).
Unlike "Secret Rings" though you'll use the analog stick and Sonic will be able to stop but the stages are straightforward running, jumping, etc. Instead of spazzy flailing, Sonic takes a hint from Twighlight Princess and quick flicks with allow for quick sword swipes and most low level baddies can be taken out with one swipe, so despite the weapon combat, the pacing keeps up unless it's a boss or a toughter baddie. Vids have shown combinations of Sonic spin attacks and the sword turning Sonic into a huge sawblade almost (that could work really well).
Sonic's friends are playable however, unlike the "Adventure" games, the game doesn't force you to play as them, instead taking a cue from Sonic Advance it's optional. You can choose who to play with in a stage. Good for purists who only want to play as Sonic. Good for fans who like playing with friends (why can't you do this more often Sega?!) So far only Shadow and Knuckles have been confirmed and while the friends will supposedly move fast, they'll have their own unique attacks. We don't know if they'll play as themselves or like in "Secret Rings" play as characters from the story Sonic finds himself in.
At this point, it's all we know.
The Uk's Official Nintendo Magazine also had a brief article about it. They commented on the story, which you should know, by now, and your talking sword ('don't worry about that, we haven't met a single talking sword who wasn't a sound chap').
They also mentioned an improved mission-based level and skill system, Knuckles' and Shadow's playability, and the possibiltity of Richard Jacques doing the soundtrack.
And we all love Richard Jacques! :D
There won't be any MotionPlus control, though.

who's that?
edit; nvm. found it. I wouldn't mind. I just don't want Crap40 doing it. In fact, I don't want any singing period. Sonic Unleashed set the bar for modern Sonic music. Classy tunes and orchestration. Anything less is unacceptable.Â
OMG CRUSH04 TTLY ROXXORZ MY BOXXORZ LOL!11
U SUK!@1
Anyway, they had BETTER include them in it.
Because the last time they said Knuckles and Shadow were going to be in a game (SU), well...
EDIT: What the...?
It seems a link has wormed its way into my 1337sp33k.
Wherever could it lead? *gasp!*
Fellow Sonic fans...may I present, Knuckles the Knight.
What the hell is Knuckles wearing? Anyway though it shows that Sonic's friends in this will be like in "Secret Rings" meaning they'll play as characters from the story as Knuckles was Sinbad before.
No idea if this is a multiplayer thing or perhaps you duel with Knuckles and Shadow as boss fights.
How cool is THAT?
There probably will be a Duel Mode of sorts, and that's probably what we're looking at.
Unless the other characters AREN'T available from the start, and you have to recruit them through the aforementioned boss fights.

Lovin' the crazy visor stuff.
After my dissapointment with Sonic Unleashed I am not sure if I will get this game unless it scores well. At the moment while it does look promising it could end up going terribly wrong hope not because I am fed up with 3D Sonic almost.chocolate1325
May I offer you a word of advice? One thing do with Sonic games, is I rarely pay full price for one unless it's one I really want to play. All the ones I played on the GC, I got used in bargain bins. I got SA2:B for a mere $9. Sonic games rarely get high scores these days but I like Sonic and I say "I want to play this, but since the scores aren't great, I'll wait for a price drop." Notice that I haven't played either Sonic Chronicles or Unleashed yet mainly because hopefully I'll get them for Christmas, then it's someone else's money instead of my own. The last Sonic games I paid full price for were Secret Rings and Sonic Rush Adventure but I didn't regret those purchases.
I found when I don't pay full retail price for a Sonic game, it doesn't disappoint me as much. Look at my Sonic Next Gen review. Now some might say I was a little too nice to that game, but then again I only paid $19.80 for it. Had I say, bought it at launch and spent $60, my review would've had about 20% more bile in it. I mean I held off buying the first Sonic Riders for a long time and waited until it dropped to about $30 but I surprisingly ended up liking it.
Also I always stay pessimisstic about Sonic. I have just learned not to buy into hype and judge the game for myself. I don't put as much stock into reviews. More and more I see reviewers scores so varied and all too often I think scores are inflated for a lot of games, while others are slammed when they shouldn't be. Look at IGN's scores for Unleashed. The Wii version got a 7.2 while the 360 version got a 4.2, but they were reviewed by different guys too and honeslty watching the videos, the 360 reviewer didn't seem pretty professional to me compared to the Wii reviewer. He seemed to just complain like a fanboy and I don't think Unleashed could be worse than "Sonic Next Gen" in that there's less playable characters and the game seems way more polished than that mess of 2006.
Also after the Jeff Gertsman incident last year, I figured we'd all be seeing game reviews with a bit more skepticism.
You do have a good point there kbaily but I have been a Sonic fan for along time. Sonic Next Gen is the only Sonic game that I have seen have a price drop quickly though.chocolate1325
I don't know how the pricing works over in the UK, but honestly if you're pessimisstic about the series as I am, I wouldn't go pay full price for any recent games from now on especially if there's other games you want to play more at the current time.
He could be collecting 7 Goblets of Camelot for all we know.
I sure hope the Black Knight tells Sonic it's merely a flesh wound when he's defeated...
