They can be as old as sega genesis, but I am just looking for some good beat me ups. I have been playing the crap out of Ninja Gaiden 2 and just looking for more good ones, any recommendations

Onimusha and Onimusha 2. They are worth playing through on higher difficulties.

Definitely the Onimusha series. It's the one series I hope they remaster.

Onimusha 1

Lord of the Rings: Two Towers and Return of the King

Gauntlet: Legends/Dark Legacy (which has some RPG mechanics in an arcade style hack and slash)

I'm currently having a lot of fun with BloodRayne personally.

Final Fight for sure. Also Batman Returns for Super NES. Comix Zone and Spiderman/Venom Maximum Carnage. All those are excellent beat 'em ups for Super NES and Genesis. Batman Returns on Super has a lot of music from the movie of the same name.

Yes, I have. It's actually based on Osamu Tezuka's manga, Dororo. The story of the game is bad-ass. Your character, Hyakkimaru, seeks to kill 48 demons who have stolen each of his body parts. Hyakkimaru uses prosthetic effectors and sensors. For example, in the beginning, the game is entirely in black and white. After you kill your first demon, you receive one of your eyes and only then do you start seeing the world in color. You also get this sidekick character called Dororo, a small kid that helps you out. Dororo's sections are mostly stealth and platforming based. Each boss fight is awesome.

The actual gameplay might not be very deep like DMC or Ninja Gaiden, but the game is definitely worth playing just to experience its story.

I've always liked the Devil May Cry games, especially DMC3 and the DMC reboot (although, that's not yet retro).
