The further irony in Donald Trump's "law and order" stance.

First this:

Yet, he gets rid of law enforcement program for the protection of Wildlife Refuges. AND, NYT finds history of tax fraud.

And he still has the gall to call himself the "law and order" president?

"The Democrats have become too extreme and too dangerous to govern."

You know, aside from the hypocrisy of candidates spouting "law and order," this quote really worries me. This type of language has been used to shut down opposing parties and even going to extremes.

So what is he implying here?

A good president would unite the people, not divide them. Criticism is fine, but to call people with different political opinions all but criminals is just plain wrong.

And they call Obama divisive; if he was (and I'm not saying he was), at least he wasn't completely overt in doing it.

Trump cannot get out of the office fast enough.

It really is worrying. I have faith in our checks and balances system, our justice system (maybe not every day, but big-picture), but if this were a different country we'd be under a dictatorship at this point. Trump is that kind of person, that kind of personality.

With that said, it is still terrifying that he got this far at all. We shouldn't have to rely on "failsafes" to keep our country safe from people, we should vote for someone who isn't even going to go in a dangerous direction. It's as much our fault as it is his.

I swore to never vote against someone, always for people, but when the next election comes I might have to vote against Trump. Here's hoping third parties become viable someday soon; tired of feeling the only way to go is blue or red.

As much as the "meltdown" continues, would you not worry if Obama had said some of the things Trump says?

Trump and his sycophants don't understand law and order in the context of democracy. Their definition of law and order harkens back to a more medieval style of governance.

@LJS9502_basic: Jason Chaffetz assured me of that. Won't be long until he massacres US citizens at the next anti-Trump rally. I know I keep saying that, bit still.

Law and Order is just a buzzword they use to seem like they stand for something, when they stand for very little. AS if the Democrats don't stand for law and order or something.

You know when someone is sworn in as president there should be NO party divide. They are supposed to be present of the entirely of the country. I've never seen a president dismiss so many Americans as easily as trump does. He truly is not president of the entire population by his own admissions.

Trump is going to start giving democrats free helicopters rides come 2020. In the ensuing chaos, people will demand a strong leader who can make decisions, a man of authority; a Caesar. He will bring structure to the chaos.

Heil Trump. Heil Victory. To our 1000 year Reich.

Everything everyone is saying about Trump, is same exact stuff you could be saying about Hilary if she were president.

All this hate on Trump is same shit this group pushed on Bush and same shit they pushed on Lincoln. Doesn't matter if Trump is good or bad, if you're Democrat, you're gonna call a Republican President Hitler.

Could we?

There are a lot of things Trump does that I can criticize, and they are all very very very Trump specific. Trump is quite literally one of the worst human beings I've ever witnessed in real-time. Yeah, history is filled with terrible people that are worse, but Trump is honestly one of the worst current Americans to have ever walked this earth, and one of the least qualified to be president. My dad, my aunt, my neighbors, my coworkers...they would all be a better president than Trump. I am pretty sure an empty seat in the oval office would be a better president.

I can't say any of that about Clinton, and I don't even like her that much.

It really isn't the same, though. Bush took us to two illegal, unjust, wasteful wars and a recession. Lincoln more or less divided the country into two and forced us to fight each other. Trump is a do-nothing asshole that's also dividing the country. So yeah, maybe a bit of similarity with Lincoln but they're kind of pushing that shit on themselves.

And sure, Democrats might be calling a Republican president Hitler; but Republican voters would probably still vote for Hitler if he were Republican, and I think that's a bit worse.

Democrat: "you know your candidate is a genocidal tyrant, right?"
Republican: "yeah, well...yours is part of the Deep State! BENGHAZI! Rabble rabble rabble..."

No. No president has ever gotten so much criticism for how he conducts himself and what he does. There is a difference between disagreeing with policy and finding out the president is a total moron that only wants to benefit himself and the like.

Eh you can't fault Lincoln too much for that because it was the only way to end slavery. No way the south would quietly agree to do that. So while Lincoln did NOT want to divide the country it was always going to happen when slavery was abolished. trump on the other hand is dividing the country for the sake of dividing the country. He can't win if his base doesn't demonize the other side. Can you image what happens if they educate themselves on actual policy? No way he and his party survive the elections.

@saltslasher: actually no. If you remember, bush had a 92% approval rating right after 9/11. That doesn't happen unless Democrats and independents support you. Bush was hated only after he dragged the wars on for years and years, went into Iraq, cut taxes for the rich then caused the great recession.

Trump is a special case and pretty much a piece of turd as most liberals see it. There's blind hatred for him that didn't exist for prior Republican presidents. For example, even though Dems disagreed with Bush's policies and by the end despised him, they had no real issues with his character. Bush was a stand-up guy, no sexual assaulting 20 different women, no divorces, no pornstars, no threats towards opposition, no racist dog whistles. He was a better person than Bill Clinton as far as personal character goes and far between than trump. On actual policy though, I'd say trump is better than bush.

Better? I guess it's on the war issue because he cut taxes for the rich as well and will lead us into a recession. I'd take GWB back over trump and I didn't agree with his policies in the least. But he was presidential.

@nintendoboy16: Let´s just be clear here, The NYT has not found anything remotely close to Tax Fraud

Until Trump is found guilty or his family is found guilty all the NYT has done is find a practice they may think is a certain thing. They are luckily not the institution who can decide if someone has done something illegal.

Yeah, an entitled prick almost got held accountable when he was vying for one of the most powerful and influential posts in our government. Problem?
