"It is always very damaging to the defendant when a flipper, a cooperator like Mr. Gates, takes the stand and says 'I committed crimes, so did that man, and here's how we did it together.'" - Former Federal Prosecutor Renato Mariotti on the Manafort trial

I want to flip just so I can be called a "flipper".

"So, what do you do?"
*leans in* "Flipper. I'm a flipper."
"What?"
"You heard me" and then I'd slowly put my hat and sunglasses on and get into my 1980's Lambo.

Ummm I guess on a serious note, sweet, very damaging. Good to hear.

Manafort's best chance is a hung jury, likely IMO since a substantial minority of Americans are batshit crazy right wingers living in their own bubble who are probably going through the trial in their own head like "lalala, I am not hearing this, lalala". They'll need all the jurors agreeing to convict.

side note: I heard one of the Q conspiracies that the daily news talking points are delivered at 4am.

actually they are delivered around 10pm the day prior but Q fans are asleep by then and dont hear about until the get up the next morning.

TRUTH

ANOTHER SIDE NOTE: nobody is ever offered a deal to flip unless there is strong believe that said person has some very good information. There is a lot of flipping going on over the past 12 months

My question is why the government did not try Manafort when presented with the facts when the crimes allegedly occurred.

I would assume because it takes time to go over information, build a case, allow the defendent to build their case, get a court date, etc.

Can I ask what point your question is leading to?

Interesting in some regards I guess.

2 criminals where 1 is a bit faster than the other and gets a good deal, nothing new.

In other news, there's an ostrich jacket up for sale.
