Right here! I just bought Mortal Kombat, Socom 4 and Fallout New Vegas right before it went out and since than have yet to turn it on. Since there is no online I have yet to turn my PS3 on even though Fallout is a single player game. Guess I realized I am an online gamer. I have been on my xbox playing NBA 2k11 and Gears 3 beta online the whole time.
well I realized that people make rash decisions such as people selling there ps3 because they cant play online. Probably just Bro gamers. Also How annoying some people are giving the current situation.
Why would you need online to play New Vegas? :|
Anyway I'm just used to being online when I play no matter what game, so it's weird not to be. However many of the games I've been playing were single player anyway, so it's no big deal to just continue on with them in offline mode. But I do want to get online with SOCOM 4 and also play Portal 2 co-op, so anytime now Sony... get the servers back up. :P
I already beat all my single player games, RDR, fallout, oblivion, mw2, BC2 so now the PS3 is just a big paper weight lol.
I had a period of adjustment. I spend a fair bit of time playing single player but while logged in and generally sending messages to friends and so on. When psn went out I kinda lost all interest in using the PS3, would try playing various games only to change my mind 5min into it (or right after I got the disc in lol). Now I'm fine with it though, playing Fallout 3 and planning on running through Demon's Souls again for fun. I still find myself hitting the PS button to check the friends list alot though... habit. :S
I was primarily using online play to access the store to see what ad-ons were available for games I owned and what stuff was on offer on PSN+, since the network has been down though I've bought a few games to play offline, including EA Active 2 which I am having a lot of fun playing, and Operation Flashpoint: Red River which I am finding difficult, but, worth the effort if you take the time on it.
I realised that I'm a 99% offline gamer and that I mostly use PSN to sync trophies, communicate with friends, use the store and newly backup data
if you're a 99% online gamer perhaps you shoul reconsider being a gamer to began with. Nothing wrong with online but a strong dependance on it isn't a good thing. I would strongly suggest any of you peoples go out there and buy a single player only game out for the time the psn is down, which is a considserable 3-5 more days. Bayonetta would be a good start, sly collection is a pretty cool guy as well.
Yeah, and you may want to wait untill PSN is back up anyway. FNV is absolutely terrible without the patches.Right here! Well i realized i have the worst luck by trying to download the original portal off the psn store on the SAME EXACT day psn went down. FML :(
Not me.
I never really played online makes even with PSN up.
I only played SP games, and when I wasn't playing a game, I'd just chat to people. That's the only thing that I can't do at the moment that's I'd even slightly consider a "bummer."
I survived about ten years of my gaming life without online and I sure as hell don't need it now. I'd like to play KZ3 online right now but I have olenty of SP games to keep me occupied
I didnt use my ps3 as much as I do when its online. I do have many singleplayer unfinished games but I usually end up playing something online with whichever friend/friends that is/are online at that time. I dont really feel like playing singleplayer for some reason. I miss the people though, not the games itself. AND I realy want to play Portal online at last :PI haven't touched the ps3 since the internet went out, never realized till now I ONLY play it online. Sucks, hope it's up soon.

I haven't gone on since last weekend. I use my ps3 to play online with friends and the my pc for everything else.
Ive been playing singleplayer games with my gf to pass the time. I do miss talking to the few friends i play Uncharted 2 with online. But PSN will be up soon.
[QUOTE="Brickz187"]Yeah, and you may want to wait untill PSN is back up anyway. FNV is absolutely terrible without the patches. good thing games are still been patched so long as the ps3 is still enabled on your router. Unless im a freak accident since Dragon Age 2 and GOW3 both patched for me on start up On topic its sad some people are so addicted to online. I enjoy it ofc but theres to many great singleplayer games to play to much..usually a game here and there although I wanna get my motorstorm rank up and some portal 2 co-op done...but even with PSn i prob played online maby 20% of my time if thatRight here! I have tons of single player games and split screen games. Take this opportunity to play the Uncharted series, Valkyria Chronicles, Batman AA, Assassins Creed, MGS4, Heavy Rain, infamous, etc. There are so many great games out there that people miss due to addiction to online games like COD (not saying that is the one you all play) that it is sort of sad.nightshade869I've played every singe one hahahahaha
I mainly only play Bad Company 2 and GT5 online anymore. I grew up on sega genesis and nintendo and etc. but when I got a computer and played Counter-strike in 2001... since then I'm all about tactical FPS's I was 11 back then, crazy... I remember skateboarding 5 miles both ways to buy half life hahaha
I like to play online, but I have a few SP games that I either just bought or haven't/can't be beaten (DS 2 is new, MLB 11 and NHL 11, RDR).
I used to play games online most of the time my PS3 was on, but I started playing MW2's campaign right around the time it went down. After it was announced that PSN wouldn't be functional for a while, I started getting back to the point I was in GTA4's story, whose saves I lost when my PS3's HDD corrupted. I have more games like Dead Space and Burnout Paradise that I have yet to complete due to the loss of my saves, so it's not that big of a problem to me. Then again, I haven't bought any recently released games, which makes my position different from most others who were itching to play Socom 4/Portal 2/Mortal Kombat online. That's gotta suck.
I barely play online anymore, if at all. If I don't have anyone specific to play with, I just don't. So 99% offline for me as well.
I've been going down "the single player experience" route for the past few years now. It's been much better. Especially financially.
