What motivates you to buy Red Dead Redemption?

Red Dead Redemption is a sandbox-style action- adventure western vid game which is developed by Rockstar San Diego. Its coming out on May 18 in North America and May 21 in Europe and Australia and its gonna be released on both Xbox 360 and Playstation 3.

I have played the first Red Dead Revolver and it had that beatiful feeling and it was one of the best westerns so far and im really looking forward for Red Dead Redemption!!

First of all, I think you mean MOTIVATES not inovates ;). Second of all, I would be motivated to buy the game if it was for pc, but it is not slated to be for it yet, although I am sure it will come soon and it looks like a pretty fun game that is a cross between GTA and GUN and I had fun with both of those. Hopefully better then GTA IV and GUN though.

I'm getting it because I absolutely loved Revolver and how balls-to-the-wall it was. Redemption just looks so much better.

i want that game for the originality.i have never played a western style game...

Just looks like it will be be fun and its a change of pace for me since I havent played a wild west game since GUN.

erm...coz the thought of being able to hijiack carriages and shoot bandits after a day of school is appealing? Oh, and its also made by Rockstar. Quality garunteed.bobbleheadrogue

The thought of roaming the desert under the starry night sky and hearing stories from npc while sitting around a campfire is beautiful to me. This game will almost certainly blow me away and to think its arriving with Alan Wake is scary good:)

The original Red Dead Revolver was *okay* but not excellent. It was fairly mundane.

The only reason I enjoyed it was because it was a western game.

I imagine the game play of Red Dead Redemption would be kind of based on GTA4.

I was sold anyway on a new western....but seriously

Yes and with Rockstars own RAGE engine and updated Natural Motions.... 10/10. :P

It's made by R* and set in the old west. I've had this pre-ordered for a couple of months now.

I LOVE the first game, and also LOVE the cowboy western genre, but its surpringly sparse in gaming.

So when a great sequel of a great game comes out to a great niche genre i ADORE! I snatch it up :D

The freedom in the game is just great.

It's bigger then GTA SA and the different landscapes with the shooting mechanic and hunting animals for hides to make outfits :D

This is just something like GTA SA combined with high graphics in Western style ;)

And I really really like the poker minigames.. Love poker :P

I am buying Red Dead Redemption. I look forward to playing an old west sandbox game and I do hope it is like Grand Theft Auto IV.

Okay, I pre-ordered it (and scored a $10 Amazon gift card!), I just couldn't help myself, it looks amazing.

Needed a western game this generation plus it's made by Rockstar, can't go wrong there.

So far (from what I've seen) everything shown from the game, everything looks epic. True R* style.

Western's are my favorite genre of movie so I was pumped about this one from the get go.

I trust that with Rockstar's track record they at least remember what makes a game fun. I didn't think GTA IV was very fun. It lost what made the previous games so much fun and I'm sure it's because they were going for a more "real" feel to the game, but as all of us nerds know, reality is no fun.:P

Anyway, here's hoping that Red Dead Redemption will be a bit more loose in its design. Sandbox games should be designed to accomodate wacky and creative experimentation. That is to say, structure is always welcome in a free-roaming game as a driving force. I'm sure this game will tell an adventure worth experiencing.

I hope R* will add (since it has multiplayer) some sort of "defend-the-fort" gamemode, that would be fun :)

I don't think anything will ever surpass The Warriors though, I loved it so much.

I'm mostly interested in it because of the whole western theme. I think it would be very different from the usual stuff, just because of the atmosphere. And being a sandbox game from Rockstar, I have a lot of faith that it will be a lot of fun as far as the gameplay.

A while back i wished there was some sort of a good next gen wild west game. Few days later I stumble upon a vid of a new game called RDR, and since then I've been following it and it looks great!
