If I upgrade my PS3 hard drive to a bigger one. (I was thinking a 250.) Is there a way for me to transfer my memory from the old hard drive to the new one?

get a usb or sd card (I have a 4gig usb card) and copy all your save game files and what ever you want to that. If you dont have a big card you can drop the files onto your computer and do it all over again. I know its a process but It may be worth it to save your files. there are other ways but that would an require external hdd, so the sd/usb card is the cheapest solution. I got my 4gig usb for $14 off buy.com

How would I do that? Or how do I know if it is?

Right click on the hard disk and see the properties, it will tell you the current format of the hard disk. You can use the windows format disk option to format the disk into nts or fat32 system.

The nice thing is there are so many ways to back-up your game saves. I have all my PC's and the PS3 on the network set-up to share files. That way if one fails there is always a back-up with a spare or two on another system. My desk top is so old it may fail at any time now (about 5 or 6 years old now) and is used every day for something.
