The first Unchartedwas terriblewhy do you think the next one will be any better?

Uhmmmm...maybe because you are wrong and the first one wasn't terrible. The first Uncharted was, in fact, quite an excellent game.
The first Uncharted was brilliant. What do you think made it terrible? I think the only things that need improvement are slight tweaking of the shooting mechanics to get them more accurate and a better melee system, which Naughty Dog has already confirmed! Bring on the next one!
For real. It takes 8 AK shots(barring headshots) to kill someone wearing light clothing. REALLY Naughty Dog? Did you just make a game that unrealistic? The first Uncharted was brilliant. precisely, why do games have to be 'realistic' wouldnt be a great game if you got shot once and died and...oh no wait....the disk exploded :|^^This.Uhmmmm...maybe because you are wrong and the first one wasn't terrible. The first Uncharted was, in fact, quite an excellent game.

In a singleplayer game, though, the enemies shouldn't take quite so much ammunition before going down. They could throw in extra enemies if they felt the difficulty was compromised as a result. Or give them better AI. I realize they did it to emphasize the important of headshots, but it made the frantic moments more annoying because your off-the-hip shots took a long time to kill anyone. Other games have the same problem - most recently, Far Cry 2. Unless you shoot someone in the head they can take at least a dozen rounds to their unarmored chest and run around happily.
But, mutants! Mutants! How can you argue with a game that ups the ante by throwing mutants at you? No plot device is more compelling or original than the late-game mutant unveil.I hated it because it was too slow, bad characters, bad story, bad cutscenes and bad gameplay.

To the other guy, I didn't say 'realistic', I said accurate, try reading my post next before you quote someone that has no idea what they're talking about. I've played Uncharted tons of times and its a fact that sometimes the hit detection isn't up to scratch. Rarely, headshots dont register and the shooting itself lacks punch.
Its fine though because this is Naughty Dogs first attempt at a realistic shooting game and I'm sure it will improve. Also, I know realism is boring, I said I wanted accuracy.

Then what is a great game for you. With great characters, story, cutscenes, and gameplay.

Just about every magazine and website. Sorry it just didn't do it for me. I did play it all the way through but haven't been near it since uncollected treasures and all.

They were obviously directing their comments at Benjiman_Guile and not you so take it easy.Uncharted is one the best games on any platform for this gen. I'd even say it's one of the best action/adventure games ever... definitely a top 10 of all time in the genre. As far as demos go... you really should try the full release version before making a final decision. For example; the Killzone 2 demo was not very impressive... but the full game is amazing. Back to Uncharted... it has a cool Indiana Jones like story-line, and characters... the graphics are top notch... and load times aren't terribly long... oh and it doesn't require an instal to the HDD (not many PS3 games can be played without installing them to the HDD).was it really a good game? i remember playing the demo and being very very unimpressed... is the game different from the demo?

I also Uncharted was mediocre game that had no redeeming qualities.
BUT
If history says anything, quality doesn't satisfy people. Fad satisfies people.
Uncharted provided what many people seeked for at the time. Cover system, more shooting, something other than dark grey levels, a jack @$$ of main character, good reputation (Naughty Dogs), and massive hype.
And once anything manages to satisfy a person, more of same usually satisfy them. Which will make Uncharted 2 a commercial success in the future.
Uncharted 2 shows little of coming back. Its the same old gameplay. Im through with the uncharted!
I've had enough of all that Drake guy throwing himself from place to place, gimme a break already!
