The Most Disappointing Sequel You Have Played

You know you have them.

The game you were so hyped on, so anxious to come out, so mouthwateringly close that you literally counted down the days till its release. And then you got it.

And it was the BIGGEST let down!!!!!!!!!!The biggest disappointment!!!!!!!!!The Biggest Suckfest Ever!!!!!!!!!!!! The trailers lied to you, gamespot lied to you, everybody lied!!!!!

Mercenaries 2: World In Flames is my disappointing sequel.....I curse you pandemic, curse you till my dying breath....

assassins creed its a great game imo but i was expecting something truly amazing. i cant think fo any sequels that really dissapointed meAsadMahdi59

The first one is Parsite Eve 2. They stripped away so much that made the first one so enjoyable it's as though they forgot what they had done!

The second is, well sort of, GTAIV. I enjoyed it way more than any other installment in the series. The core components were improved greatly (such as the combat and storytelling) but they left out of parts I had actually enjoyed, such as investing in property, or collecting vehicles. It would have been great if they had left those parts in while adding the improvements, rather than sacrificing one for the other.

Zelda 2 that game was garbage and the outcast of the franchise.

KOTOR2 was very dissapointing to me story wise, it had a great engine and it was a lot of fun but in comparison to KOTOR I just felt let down.

If the stories didn't tie into each other then it doesn't count. It doesn't make it a sequel if they're only in the same place, GTA III's LC doesn't look anything like GTA IV's LC anyways.

I've got to say, mine has to Halo 3.

It felt like a copy & paste session of Halo 2. Minus a long @ss flood sequence that made me want to gnaw on my controller.......oh wait, it did have that.

Seriously though, Bungie kinda shat out a story on that one. One of the first games that I A: Groaned everytime I started a new level, because it wasn't the last. B: When I finished the campaign and watched it till the very end, turned off my (now disowned) 360, poured a cup of coffee and thought about how I'd rather watch White Chicks or something instead of play that game or consider the plot holes

It has the same game mechanics, same type of story, same everything.

Hell, they are so similar GTA 4 may even be a (worse) remake of GTA 3.

I have to say Resident Evil 4 is my most disapointing sequel. I've been a die hard RE fan from the start and RE4 marks the death of the series to me.

I don't think I've experienced buying a sequel that absolutley sucked. It may not have been as good as the previous game but they were all pretty much great games.

Dark Cloud 2, Disgaea 2/3, Kingdom Hearts II, Jak sequels. Only sequels I think might of been plainly worse than its predecessors would be; Burnout Dominator, and R&C games to me.

Can honestly not see what the great fuss is about them.

The first one was passable, the others were so dull I thought my brain would leak out of my ears at any given moment.

explain please i remember gta 2 being a sequal to 1 and london - expansion 3 sequal to 2 vice and san andreas - non sequals set in gta universe more less spin offs

same goes for liberty city stories gta advance vice city stories and newly announced gta china town wars, ds ,

Well Halo 2 springs to mind. Don't get me wrong, it was a great game but it lacked something that Halo had. I can also say the same for GTA 4. Again, don't get me wrong, I love the game! However, I was alittle disappointed with the story line & the characters (San Andreas was alot better in these areas!). But everything else about the game was killer.

1. GTA4 is a sequel. If it isn't where are Gta 1-3. Oh wait they made those and a few others before GTA 4 was made. Again GTA4 is a sequel. It might not be a direct sequel but nonethe less a sequel.

2. Assasins Creed is not a sequel.

3. My dissapointing sequel was Tomb Raider Legend or Ace Combat Zero. Maybe even MGS2.

Its a toss up between MGS3 and MGS4

I love Master Chief but Halo 3 was a huge disappointment. Everything about it from graphics, to gameplay (same old Halo gameplay). It really felt like a recycled Halo game. I expected a whole lot more for the ending to the trilogy.

GTA IV, I was hoping for more things to do with all my cash. I did have half a million, and all I had to look forward to doing was buying more rocket launchers to shoot at people. Yipee..
