Totally opinion based, but since the psp's launch the best story i have played is Legend of Heroes: A Tear of Vermillion, even though the gameplay was so-so. That or Crisis Core.

As said above it's purely opinion based. Resistence Retribution has a pretty good story and if your a fan of the console versions this is a nice addition to it's universe. The Warriors game is also prety fun and has a great sotry. It's a prequel and the warriors movie story as well. hmmm there are pletny of others but as of now I can't exactly remember. FF VII from the PSN is also good but be sure you could follow it. IT can get pretty hetic and confusing if you don't pay attention. FF Crisis Core has a good story as a prequel.

Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core and Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. But you have to be a fan of those series to really enjoy the stories to the fullest.

Oh also to note from his response on Portable Ops. It is not Portable Ops +. Portable Ops is very hard to find and don't ne tricked like me and other who bought + thinking it was that game and more stuff. + plus is an expansion that is for the most case Multiplayer only. No story in it.

The greatest story was in Chilli Con Carnage. It was so crazy and over-the-top that it was amazing. Other than that, I'd say MGS Portable Ops and Jeanne D'Arc.

Thought Star Wars Force Unleashed had a great story. May have to be a SW fan to truly appreciate it though.

The Warriors, Jeanne, and Resistance were also good, as previously mentioned.

Killzone Liberation, the Metal Gear Acids (especially the first one), and Manhunt 2 were a few more of my favs.

Anything with great atmosphere that really draws you in. It's tough to do on a handheld.

I agree. I'm a huge fan of MGS and FFVII, and I can say that I would not like either's story as much as I do now if I wasn't a fan of them.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Tactics Ogre.

Edit:

Oh woops, 2 year old thread...
