well the old 80gb ps3s have backward compatability. and for reliability it's ps3 as well. the 360 has been known to break down a lot throughout the years with the red ring of death. so if thats what you value the most, then id say ps3. plus free online too. it all depends on what you value the most though, the 360 has good stuff about it too.
I dont think its worth it to buy any used system, you dont know what you are getting. You might get a system that lasts a long time or you might get one that last 2 weeks. You are better off just getting a new one. Besides you are likely to pay more for a used backwards compatable system than a new system.jcopp72This, better off to get a slim and buy a PS2 if OP wants to play PS2 games.
I plated GT5! Pain in the ass btw, but it was such an awesome feeling to achieve it. Althought GT5's standard looking cars are a dissapointment the rest of the cars are just so satisfying to drive with a steering wheel. Aside from that both the 360 and PS3 have great games but PS3s library is just more varied. And according to what everyone says the 360 breaks down with the ring of death twice as much as the older ps3 models. The new ps3 are built with the ylod in mind so they are now pretty much invulnerable to it. Plus, the PS3s network is free and you also get a blu-ray player.
If you ar buying used then dont buy a xbox. It will fail %100 within a year or 2.Â
ps3 has free online services, better games, built in battery for the wireless controller. It's a no brainer, buy ps3.
Go with which system has the exclusives you prefer.Rattlesnake_8
Agreed, it's a personal preference. Go with whichever games you find more appealing that other systems don't have. ;)
Playstation 3 80GB system. You might be best in getting a new PS3. but you want a B/C model. Just keep in mind that phat models are prone to dying of YLOD.
I don't care if I'll insult Xbox fans... I HATE XBOX! Mainly because of paid-to-play multiplayer and very weak exclusives... I recommend you PS3 :D
Why would you ask this question on a PS3 forum? Dont you know that everyone in the PS3 forums is gonna say pick the PS3? I have both xbox 360 and PS3 and I would choose the xbox 360 because the online is better imoProjectPat187
If they are buying used systems I don't they want to pay Xbox Live Gold fees.
PS3 unless you want to pay to access all online feature including services you have already paid for once like Netflix.
Hi guys, First of all, I wanted to say that this is my first post on this website, so please bear with me. ;-) Second of all, for my price range I am wanting to buy either a Playstation 80GB (used) or an Xbox 360 Elite 120GB (used). Which should I get? Which one has backwards compatibility, and which one is guaranteed to "live" longer? Thanks for the help! I truly appreciate it. :-) MeganMeg4ChristAlone
You have got the wrong forum. The PS3's with 4 USB ports have backwards compatibility. The old 80GB's has BC, but I honestly would go for one of the slim models. As far as hardwre life span goes, I do not think you have to worry about either system dying on you within at least 5 years. I would try and get a new system if I were you. Buying used hardware is not really a good idea. You do not know if the previous owner took care of the system.Â
A lot of the game libraries on both systems are the same. If you are more into singleplayer games get the PlayStation 3. It has games like Resistance, Ratchet, Sly Cooper, Heavy Rain, Uncharted, and so on. If you want a more multiplayer centric system, then get a 360. It has games like Gears of War, Halo, Forza, Project Gotham Racing, and so on.Â
