I am trying to get my PSP to use a proxy server when the web browser is being used while connected to a wifi AP. I'm getting the 80410414 DNS error whenever the proxy server setting is set to "use."
After reviewing the network traffic going back and forth, I believe the issue is with the PSP. Does anyone have any views on this?
With the proxy server set to "Do not use" on the PSP, the following network traffic was observed:
20:15:27.840292 192.168.1.8.50070 > 192.168.1.1.domain: 49313+ A? searchportal.information.com. (46)
which is the PSP performing a DNS query for the information.com domain. Everyting works fine and teh DNS server replies:
20:15:27.960314 192.168.1.1.domain > 192.168.1.8.50070: 49313 1/2/2 (141)
However with the proxy server setting set to "Use," the same traffic looks like this:
20:16:58.754281 192.168.1.8.50069 > 192.168.1.1.domain: 49569+ A? 1. (19)
which is wrong:
20:16:58.754696 192.169.1.1.domain > 192.168.1.8.50069: 49569 NXDomain 0/1/0 (94)
I've searched the net for anything on this and have come up empty handed. Does anyone have info/a fix?
I'm using v 3.71 firmware on the PSP.
