I am interested in getting Initial D Extreme Stage, Gran Turismo 5 (when its released), and Wangan Midnight for the PS3.

I have noticed that Logitech (Logicool in Japan) have made a lot of steering wheels. The cream of the crop which is the G25 and the soon tbe released G27.
While I love the quality, the price tag is out of my range. My main criteria is that the steering wheel have a gear shift which you can place either on the right or left side of the car for realism. I personally don't like to play a game where I'm driving a Japanese manufactured car that has gear shift on the right like an American model.

Can anyone who is really familar with these devices recommend something from Logitech or another high quality product? Thanks.

Driving Force GT - Awesome for the price, if you don't want to spend the money on the G25 or 27 get the GT it's the next best thing. Also Initial D is great and love using the GT with it.

Save your pennies for the G25.

I'll be purchasing one for GT5 myself.

Quick question, I've noticed a lot of screen shots showing the gear shift on the right side. Is it possible to physically move the gear shift to the left? Or, is it molded into the frame? That would be my best bet if you can do that.

Its molded onto the frame. I'll be honest I'm planning on buying the G27 when GT5 comes out. The GT is a great wheel and I bought it because I've never owned a wheel before and didn't want to spend alot not knowing if I would like it. GT5P is simply unmatched when using a wheel. I love the GT wheel but would like to use a clutch and 6 speed shifter. If your strapped for cash then get the GT, if you want the shifter and clutch save the money for the G27 or G25. I cannot strees this next point enough, GET OR BUILD a COCKPIT, it makes all the difference in the world. I ended up buying the playseat classic from walmart.com ($189 on clearance) and again cannot stress how much a difference this makes.

I also wanted a g25, but couldnt justify it since I have a 360 aswell, so I bought the driving force GT (aside from the shifter being on the wrong side :p im aussie) it's a great 900 degree wheel, the extra dials and stuff work well in gt5p too.
