PS3s don't break themselves. People break PS3s. And coming on here to try and get help to fix their stupid actions isn't right.
Okay, so I just got my 60GB PS3 from my cousin yesterday. I went to update the PS3 and while it was installing the PS3 just shuts off. No yellow light or flashing red lights. So, then i try to turn the PS3 back on and now it wont turn on. This video shows EXACTLY what my problem is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CoJ5ej8BIg I cant access the recovery menu because the firmware is outdated. The hard drive was formatted using my PC. I called Sony and they pretty much told me nothing except for me to shell out $150 to get it replaced. I know there is a fix, I just cant find it. All help will be greatly appreciated. Thank You.prettyodddom325
As far as i know, the 60GB models are realllly prone to failing like this. Prolly didnt help it much that it shut down while you were updating. Best bet is to just send it into sony with the 150 dollars. Its better than doing something yourself, voiding the warranty and then Sony refusing to fix it.
Maybe it's something to do with the hard drive? In the video the hd light went on a little bit and then shuts off. I know for external hard drives, you need to format it to FAT32. But I'm not sure about internal ones. And if you dont get any signal on your tv, try resetting the video settings by holding onto the power button when it is turned off until you hear the 2nd beep.
if there are any figerprints or possible scratches on any of the disc that could be why the disc arent popping up cause yesterday i put mlb the show 10 on and it wouldnt pop up so i checked the disc and there were fingerprints on it i guess i have a cleaner that removes dust or fingerprints for disc so i did that and then it worked fine
They do break themselves..when there the 60GB version and there faulty. Why do people like you defend that? Looking at your avatar I probably shouldn't have asked that question!! :roll:PS3s don't break themselves. People break PS3s.
