Like the title describes, post your favourite opening game sequences. If you liked the opening video or simply something that was stated in the video, post it here and share it with other people. Enjoy! :D

The most recent that springs to mind is Uncharted 2's opening. It instantly puts you in the action, and within the first few seconds you know the game is going to be epic :D

The opening to GTA4 is also great, the main theme is one of my favorite pieces of music.

Call of Duty 4, Mirror's Edge and Borderlands.

If we're not limited to PS3, then Chrono Cross and Final Fantasy X.

This Gen - PS3 exclusive

All time- Its the first one that popped in my mind. Good old Mega Drive days. :P (can't find the video of the intro/starting screen so I posted the theme)

KillZone 2's opening video has got to be up there with the best

I like the Fallout 3 opening cutscene, it's really powerful and clever. Killzone 2 is up there as well.

for me mass effect, these epic conversation along with the epic music and EpIC prologue make it ... well epic!

Uncharted 2 simply awesome opening.

This gen, probably nothing has wowed me like Killzone 2. (as far as openings go) I immediately felt good about my purchase. Same with Heavenly Sword, it was the first game I played on my PS3. I would say MGS4 but thats obvious and Im sure by the time I click submit there will be 30 posts saying just that. The opening sequence for AC was pretty stoke invoking as well.

As for last gen. GoW and the 1st Onimusha come to mind.

Either the opening to FFVIII, or Cannon Fodder with it's amazing theme music.

This gen...yeah I'll go with Heavenly Sword.

Grand Theft Auto 4...and GTA:San Andreas

Metal Gears is probably my favorite for PS3.

I liked in Uncharted 2 how in the very beginning they provide a quote by Marco Polo which says "I did not tell half of what I saw, for I knew I would not have been believed"

(Although doing a very small bit of research I never found that he said the second part of that statement "for I knew I would not have been believed")

Metal Gear Solid 2.

I really liked both Kingdom Heart's openings.

Both Killzones have excellent opening sequences. The script, and the incredibly powerful delivery.

Overall- FFX or Persona 3

For meI would have to say Bioshock. I had no idea what to expect, and from swimming threw the ocean of fire then walking down the stairs of that building with the lights flickering onand then the first thing you see in Rapture. Epic.

Borderlands anyone? Music fits the sty-le of the game perfectly, and the I love the way the characters are introduced.

Uncharted 2 has a sweet intro as well, obviously:P

I haven't gotten to play Uncharted 2 yet :/ so I can't say weather or not it has the best opening.

but out of the games I HAVE played, definitely MGS4's and Killzone 2's was really quite good too.
