I played a demo of Resistance and the full game for Killzone. I was more impressed with Killzone; the gameplay in Resistance was... bleh. Killzone 2 FTW!
At the moment, I want both, and already have both preordered (I know, that's cheating about the question). However, I actually am more interested in seeing new footage of Killzone 2 than I am about seeing the gameplay trailer of Resistance 2 on June 13th.
The gameplay footage shown of Killzone 2 blows pretty much every other FPS out of the water. I didn't really think the original Resistance was anything special either, it was just popular because it was the best game out of the slim pickings available at launch. I prefer the darker and grittier look and feel Killzone seems to have to the cartoony gun play of Insomniac's shooter.
Resistance 2, hands down, ive played kill zone for the ps2, and i wasnt that too impress, once resistance 2 come out its really going to set the stone for fps games, its more like a montana- fps wise- with 64 multiplayer , 8 co-op mode, and 2 full campaign mode, its going to make a big leap from the 1st version, just watch, the first version was real good, but resistance 2 would be even better.
I want and will be getting both but, I want Resistance 2 more to see how the game continues from its cliffhanger ending of the first. Also because it has 8 player coop in story mode and up to 64 player online!!! IMO its the game to be looking forward to.

Gotta go with Killzone 2, Resistance 2 will definitely something to look at, but if I had to choose between the 2 right now I would pick Killzone just out of history, and love of the story haha.

the whole 64 player online and 2 full campaigns and 8 player co op sounds good, but none of that is gonna mean anything is the game is only average. the game still has to be fun to play. the first resistance was pretty good, but it wasnt anything i havent played before in a shooter, it wasnt anything special
killzone 2? is that a game? i think games have to eventually come out actually to be considered games. killzone 2 will not actually be releasedshroom76

I dont get why everyone likes kill zone, i played it on the ps2, and its pretty bad, but as for resistance , its like the steve young era in the gaming world lol, check out the features, & you tell me whats up. 8)

You'll see June 13th 2008 why we all feel its an amazing game.
The original Resistance wasn't very good based off the demo. The controls were poorly mapped, simple things such as an animation between regular view and looking down a scope were missing, and the weapons were borderline retarded. Seriously, a gun that can shoot through cover? That's not even fun...it feels cheap.
Also, it doesn't help that Resistance managed to combine the 2 most overdone FPS scenarios, WWII (ok not technically but same era) and Sci-Fi. At least Killzone feels somewhat unique.
