I'd say mostly A, but not reading as much as watching.
But mostly, what I do is I read some previews and, when available, reviews. The score doesn't matter as much as the review itself though.
Sometimes I go on GameRankings to see what every one is saying. In fact, if a game has a average score of 82% but there are as much 60% as 95%, you know you have to read the review because the game clearly isn't for everyone. Then there's the 96% games I don't like, like GTAIV.
The most important thing for me is what the game feels like when playing, I often watch video reviews (GS, GT and sometimes IGN) or gameplay movies. Those are the do or die of a video game in my opinion.
When possible, I like to hear something from an actual human being, but I'm the one, by far, with the most games in my friends circle, so I'm more often than not the one giving advice.
