Some background: My internet is 150 Mbps down and 15 Mbps up. I have the PS3 hooked up wired to the router and I get 10 Mbps down, 1 Mbps up. It's the latest PS3 model.

My PS4 is hooked up wired as well and it gets between 130-150 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up. I get similar speeds from my phone through wifi, as does my wife with her phone.

My question is; is there a way to improve the PS3's speed? Is it sucky cause it's older hardware? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Didn't work as in same speeds, or a very minor improvement?

Hooking up the PS3 wired is almost the same as PS4, the tech doesn't differ a lot.

Ok that's strange, I can only think of 2 scenarios;

1. The PS3's network chip is faulty (try wireless, I know its slower, but its still faster than 10Mbps down and 1Mbps up).

2. The PS3 isn't forwarding its own ports on the router, set it up manually. TCP: 80, 443, 3478, 3479, 3480, 5223, 8080 and UDP: 3478, 3479.

Setup port triggering on your router, so that when the PS3's MAC address connects, those specific ports are automatically forwarded.

Same exact boat here. 125-150 DL, 5-10 UP on my hardwired PC connection, but only 35 DL, 6 UP on my wired PS3 connection. Have gone through the WFFC link. Have set up my router (DD-WRT) to have port-forwarding, and UPNP enabled. I did read somewhere else that some other ports should be forwarded, so I have some more as well. Would this make a negative difference?

Tried uploading images, but since I am new, the site wont let me. Maybe this will work...
