I would try and not make a habit of overcharging. My cell phone battery died cuz of that. With my PSP i try to play untill the battery is dead or almost dead and then charge it a few hours 1-3. I do do have a extra battery so it is easy for me if i want to keep gaming to just swap a new one in. I just started to do this though cuz of my phone so my battery have been overcharged many a times

It's a little known fact that if you keep anything charging constantly then it will kill your batteries charge and your PSP will have an even worse battery life.

I don't think that there is such thing as "over charged battery", I leave my PSP plugged almost all the time when I'm not playing..

You can't overcharge. Modern Li-Ions have a chip inside them to prevent this.

Keeping it plugged in too long and/or too often could however accelerate the battery's natural decay. (since it occurs the fastest while the charge is at 100%)

I used to keep my laptop on the AC all the time, now when it's not plugged into one, it runs out in like half an hour (whilst in use). It should be something like 3/4 hours.

well i have a slim psp, and it doesnt overcharge. it charges til its 100%, then the little light goes out. therefore it is not charging anymore. yellow = charging. light out = not charging.

The PSP used Lithium Ion Battery, which is super sensitive to overcharge.

Old generations batteries such as teh Nickel Cadmiums charged slowly to maintain their power because they lose quite an amount of power on daily basis.

Lithium Ion Batteries, however, are different. The battery in the PSP has a reconfigurable memory or chip that is set to shut the charge off when the battery is full.

So it's perfectly safe to leave the PSP to charge overnight , cuz it won't overcharged. WoooooHooooo !!!!
