Only way I'll buy a PS4 anytime soon...

Is if buying a new game means actually being able to play it immediately like back in the old days. Here's my typical experience with Sony's consoles

New PS1 game
1 console logo
2 company logos
3 start screen

New PS3 game
1 console logo
2 motion control safety
3 anti-piracy warning
4 company logos
5 licensing logos
6 create savedata
7 install/check trophy
8 install game data
9 "must be online to..."
10 "sure you don't want to log in?"
11 checking dlc
12 start screen

I've read that every PS4 game has to be installed though, which is worrying. Even partial installs take at least a minute

lol, this topic made me laugh. Unfortunately my friend, those days are long gone. I'm prett sure Ps4 has installs; though I'm not sure if it installs while the game is being played this time around. It'll be okay though man, we will get through this together. :)

ps4 allows for instant play while downloading or installing :S and to be honest it ain't that long to wait stop being so impatient. seriously once opon a time you had to wait ages for the game to start back on the amiga, plus you can set the game up to come straight on :S and one more thing the install is a one time thing

resident evil 6 was pretty bad for splash screens at start up, but i think the worst was Sonic and the Secret Rings on Wii.

Did you come here just to try and troll the playstation thread?

If you didnt then you have an issue if you dont have the patience to install a game. It only takes a few minutes in most cases and you only do it once, it isnt like it takes 45 minutes everytime you install it.

Out of all the things to be concerned about in the next generation PS4... you are concerned about waiting like 20 seconds to start a game? I never had an issue with the ps3 startup time. I would be more concerned about quality of the games, price, game system durability and make sure there isn't another ylod, etc.
