No black multiplayer characters in Battlefield 3

Just noticed after 32 hrs of beta play theres only white charcters..odd i thought..games usually try to break it up a little bit..not here i guess haha

The only thing I can think of is that it's still in Beta??? I would like to think that this will not be an issue in the final release. I seriously doubt Black or Asian characters would require more resources to render or anything like that.

I never really noticed till now thats weird lol not that it really matters though. BETA is starting to run very well now :)

I'm white but find it disgraceful considering African-Americans make up approx. 18% of the US military.

There are no black characters in Killzone 3, 2, and Black Ops's multiplayer. Nothing new.

Does anyone actually care? I'm playing Persona 3 at the moment and there aren't any dark skinned characters there either.

Interesting point though as they usually try to mix it up a bit.

really not trying to be racist here.. but good.. Blackfaced characters = less visible, i'd prefer everyone on an equal playing field. soo all black or all white, or all whatever! i prefer generic character models in FPS.. PoisoN_Facecam0

That is a little odd, not even one token black guy?

Its a shame they never implemented that character customization that was rumored. Rainbow Six is pretty great for it, nothing like fighting a diverse team of ladies, Asians and heavily scarred dudes.

if they put black characters in online game people will say

• "WTF! My player is black and i can be seen in an open area easily and get killed, Nerf it please"
• "WTF! His Character is so black that i cant see him in the dark when he is prone and Camping"

Thats why they dont use black in FPS

Unless you're going to spend your time admiring your character model and not playing, the only thing the other players (and yourself) are going to see are "Team uniform", "Opposite team uniform" and "Crosshair colour".

Anyway on topic. I didn't notice it at all, but then again I really don't care, its a generic shooter with generic fun, so no big deal. I don't think this should be an issue.

My character profile on Battlelog is black.

There are no islanders, aboriginals, maoris, asians, indians or latinos either but what does it matter? This isn't the united nations its just a video game, if you pull the race card and moan just because there isn't one particular race and don't even mention all the others its missing your displaying a certain amount of racism too
