It's becoming like the Madden games where they keep releasing it year after year on the same engine. By the 3rd or 4th iteration the game can't help but feel outdated, even if it's got a new campaign and multiplayer. It's still basically the same thing and falling behind the competition. I really wasn't that disappointed in Modern Warfare 2. But then I hadn't played Modern Warfare 1, and only recently got World at War. So the game was still new to me. These are all thoroughly decent games, but each game they put out and with less timing between them it can't help but cheapen the anticipation for the "next" Call of Duty game. Or in this case the next THREE games which all seem like they are going to be rushed out the door.
I don't own any CoD games so I might pick this one up, although Vietnam is more likely. I might just ditch Activision altogether, though, and try Medal of Honor.
Sweet, Ill do the same as I did with MW2; Ill buy it used at GS, play out the single player (I do want to see Price's revenge on the US military, it could be epic) and spend a few hours on the multiplayer before realizing BC2 is better, and give it back to GS for a full refund. I love that return policy; its kept me from feeling burned over an expensive game a few times now....

COD: World at War only 19.99 at gamestop. I personally found it to be just as good as Modern Warfare 2, if not better.
I'm not sure what I'll be interested in from this franchise from now on. Vietnam game could be interesting. But it's wait and see on that. I am pretty sure I'm done with the Modern Warfare series as it will probably be more of the exact same. I found MW2 solid, but nothing more than that.
Booo! This game will get overhyped and will sell millions. If they want to make a better game, learn from cod4 and not mw2. ExoticAnimal
I second this. COD4 had that nostalgic feeling that MW2 didn't have. But with this ongoing lawsuit.. MW3 will continue to face further delays.. as Zampella and West hold partial rights to the creativity behind Infinity Ward games - namely Call of Duty Modern Warfare series.

Long story. I am pretty uptight when it comes to age ratings. I live in the UK. :P
so what will they take away this time? p2p servers? wait that means no multi....so im guessin no local....wait....i know....theyll just make it a 3 hour campaign and the same mp except with guns with absolutely no recoil that explode like rpgs and give everyone mini nukes on spawn!!!!

This is why I didn't buy Modern Warfare 2 when I got a PS3, I knew a 3rd one was probably going to come out in November or sometime around that and I didn't want to waste 60$(and I'm not including any of those add ons)on a game that is just going to have a sequel with buffed up graphics and a couple extra guns. So I decided to buy Killzone 2 for only 40$, and I know the 3rd one isn't going to be in development anytime soon so I don't feel like I'm wasting my money. I didn't buy the 1st or 2nd Modern Warfare, and I'm not buying this one either.

You are actually kinda wrong here. A Veitnam COD will come out this November but MW3 will come out next November the same thing that happened between MW and MW2. Also i am pretty sure that Killzone 3 is in devolpment they just havent released it yet.
Beside that, I think that the best thing COD can do is stop wil the WW2 and Veitnam COD and just put all there personall and resources into making the MW seires. This way they could actually make it alot better and not just a game that feels the same with its predeccer.

i think that they should make cod 9 be ww1 "stand up and charge" then charge into a wall of machine gun and rifle fire and die with the 800 other people in that one charge" end of game.....would make since seeing as how the campaigns by activision keep gettin shorter and shorter
