Just got me a PS3; how do I install games to the hard drive?

Alright, so I'm completely lost here.

I have this massive 320GB HDD in this thing and I know I should probably fill it with install images of my games.
I've done this on my 360 before, so I figure I can do it on here too.

Let's say, for example, Arkham City. How would I go about installing that? Is there a special procedure?

This is the only feature I wish we had. Mostly for long sessions on COD or BF. If the games were installed completely, the games may have faster loads, less console heat produced, and less wear and tear on the blu ray drive. If you think about it, this would really be a beneficial move in the PS3 gamers favor. I hope SONY does this, I really don't want to have to fix my blu ray drive again before this generation is over.

To answer your questions, you cannot install games voluntarily. Only some games install data to the HDD, and it usually is not a full game install.

I was so mad when I got my ps3 and learned you cant do this, I install every game on my 360 I am playing and really wish they had this option on ps3.

Dont give us that bs, you didnt knwo every single thing the ps3 could and could not do when you bought it.

It depends on the game. a lot of games have mandatory installs. Some older games have voluntary installs. Ridge Racer 7, Soul Calibur 4, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 1, 3D Dot Game Heroes, and Tekken 6 are all examples of games with voluntary installs.
