poor old jeff got fired because kayne and lynch review of his was bad so the developers of kayne and lynch thretened to pull the add off the site and take back money unless they fired gertman, i kid you not it is so **** gay but true check on Kotaku.com GAMESPOT AND CNET USED TO BE MY FAVORITE NOW I WILL NEVER VISIT THIS SITE AGAIN that is why there was no on the spot
Are you serious??? Well, that sucks... he was actually one of the few reviewers here at gamespot worth listening too (most of the time, like in Kane and Lynch).
NO WAY! Jeff and Alex Navarro are the only reviewers that actually have worthwhile reviews on this site. Jeff's reviews were always the most trustworthy too... :( please just be a rumor
i'm afrade it might be true. he was not on the Hotspot yesterday and they never said why which is odd they always say oh he's sick or oh he's still on vacation. then On the Spot is cancled today! i almost want to send him a message over live but i dont think he answer plus im sure lots of people are already doing that!
I highly doubt it's true... After Ryan Gallup left, Jeff is the only one who makes Gamespot live any good. Not to mention he makes the best (personally) reviews outta the bunch.
I've only been a user in GameSpot for a little bit, but I liked Jeff's reviews and his thoughts..... Seriously though firing him because of his tone of voice?
It would suck to get fired over a game like Kane and lynch. Jeff is probably one of the most trustworthy reviewers out there. The only people who are happy he is fired are nintendo fanboys who are pissed that TP only got a 8.8, which I thought it deserved.
WHy t.h. would they fire Jeff? He gave a pretty good review of the game. (I played it, and it has got some good moments but also serieus bugs) They don't like the tone in which he gave the review? Oh man, that's what personality is called. If Jeff would be fired it would be a disgrace and a huge letdown on future 'reviews' of games in general which we know then would depend on how much money or advertisment a company is willing to pay.
No matter what the tone of the review is, it was still objective. He mentioned the good and bad points of Kane and Lynch. I have yet to play the game, but I found his review to be objectve nonetheless.
GS has gone to the dumps now. here come the next round of people getting mad because of something on this website. it won't be long before this thing hits like 500 posts.
man... if this is true, i hope other sites like IGN, 1up, Kotaku, and Joystiq make a huge deal out of this. buying off reviews is just ridiculous on the Publisher's part... and i hope the gaming community will not tolerate it.

Mech, if it isn't gamespot's, then whose? They could have stand up for their personnel. Jeff did nothing wrong, a decent company would have defended their employee.
It's BS, that's what it is. Is not that I am fan of Jeff or anything, but the guy was objective and he was doing his job, is not like he went on crusade to destroy Kane and Lynch. If someone should pay the price is IO for giving out a glitchy game.
OK we know kotaku isn't always the most credible source and I really hope this isn't true. Jeff is one the last and longest members of the GS crew and he is definitely one of the most entertaining to watch and listen to. I've questioned a couple of his reviews as of late but I REALLY don't want him to go. This is just low.

being active on a site that does this kind of crap (IF the rumor is true) like making a union is that last thing we should do. it would be better if all of us went to another site and make a union there. :P
Wow, if they fired him over that I don't think anyone should support Gamespot anymore. Why did they have him working at Gamespot for so long and fire him over what he thought of a game. I haven't played this game yet , but if it has bugs and a poor story why should he lie about it. If he had a happy tone of voice and said the game wasn't too great it would sound like he was mocking the game. Either way someone could complain about it. Very sad indeed though, if Edios really had a part to play in this I wouldn't buy their games anymore.
