Is Killzone 2 as bad as people say?

I just got a PS3 to play with my friends but they all are playing MW2 and it seems everywhere I got either forums or to them; the complaints about killzone 2 dont stop. Forget about the SP how is the MP?

I don't know what people told you KZ2 was bad, but they must have pretty bad taste in shooters. It's a really good game, and the people you're listening to are probably just the whiny CoD fanboys who won't accept KZ2's realistic controls. It also has a 91 on Metacritic for Universal Acclaim. The multiplayer is really good and it's still very active.

I don't think KZ2 was bad at all, but it was different and does take some getting use to. The biggest complaint that people had about it was the "weight" of everything. The movement all feels sluggish compaired to the nimble movements of other shooters, but I didn't mind that. In fact, I feel it gave the game a little more realism. I recommend trying it out at least and seeing if you can adjust to its physics.

when you say bad you mean it as in awesome, if that's the case it sure is.

Would you say the weightyness is on par with bad company 1 and 2? because alot of people complained about that game but I love it.

People that told you that were probably MW2 fanboys.I aint a KZ2 fanboy,i just love the MP.It's just the "weight" of the gameplay that's bad.But you get used to it,no big deal.

People only think it's bad because it doesn't play exactly like CoD. I personally didn't have a problem with the controls. I played CoD4 up until KZ2 came out and had no problem adjusting, so yeah...

The online is amazing, different to COD but in a good way, Pistols only deathmatches are beautiful.

Killzone 2 is not a bad game its my fav shooter on the PS3.

Killzone 2 is a great game. I've never really heard of anyone say that it was a bad game before. It does take a while to get used to the controls. But, yeah it's a good game.

Single player sucks, but don't know much about mp.

What??? Not at all. Its not the best FPS out there but its awesome. The online will get stale after a while tho.

Also if all your friends are playing mw2 online then just get that instead. The online is better than killzone 2s and online games are even better when your playing with your friends.

give it a rent and spend some time on mp. If you have spent a lot of time on call of duty, it may take a good few hours to get used to the differences (weight etc). If you find you can adapt to Killzone2 you should definetly buy it. Its online mode is one of the most robust in the industry, and the firefights feel intense and hectic.

Also, by getting used to Killzone 2, you are prepping yourself for Killzone 3...which looks awesome (and less grey :P)

KZ2 is an awsome game...it's just that alot of people(NOT JUST COD FANS) had issues with the controls. It's not the greatest shooter ever "BUT" it is solid and the graphics are phenomenal.Try out the demo...see for yourself:)

i recently started playing it for the first time and MY GOD its generic. i started the game on veteran so it would last a litle longer, but its still easy )got the trophy for killing the zippy little helicopter thing in less then 1:30 after half a dozen trys). feels like Medal of Honour: Sci fi Assault with everything scripted.i suppose its the first REAL exclusive shooter sony fans can be proud of but its ultra generic and the tacked on motion controls are stupid (turning handles and planting bombs are awkward!)

I actually just beat it saturday and thought it was a great fps. I enjoyed it more than MW2 and the online is active, although I only played 2 matches. The only thing I didnt like was that the person you played as seemed short as hell. A lot of people say the SP sucks, but I enjoyed it and now look forward for Killzone 3...A definite must play IMO.

The only people that say it's bad are the ones that only play COD and are too bad to adjust to Killzone's controls.

Killzone 2 is by far the best FPS game out there...Exceptionally, only for the PS3. People who say it's bad maybe say that because are,indeed, CoD fanboys who are spoiled with the same old World War thing over and over again. ;)

id say it was just ok i mean the game looked great but it did feel clunky, and the game was pretty dark. i just finished mw2 campaign and honestly i felt like it was better. MP wasnt enough people online for me to keep kz so i just traded it in.

I thought it had one of the worst single player campaigns I had played in awhile. The multiplayer was one of the best.

Killzone 2 is a very good FPS. GREAT graphics and sound, but the story of the campaign kind of sucks. I also didn't care for some of the main characters. I was hoping Rico and Natko would die throughout the game.

Multiplayer is good. Kept me busy for about 60 hours. That is plenty for me. I did sell the game, but rebought it recently so I could replay it before Killzone 3 comes out.

DLC is good, but it's a shame not too many people are playing. PS+ discount on the DLC, or perhaps giving it away for free would be a smart way for Sony to get more people playing Killzone 2.

If you can get the game for $20 or so, it'll be a great deal.

I have absolutely no idea where you heard KZ2 was bad, its got a 91 metacritic score and its one of the most addicting MP games Ive ever played. Right up there with Team Fortress 2

Imo Killzone 2 was great. I think it depends on who you talk to.
