Is it my PS3, MW3 disc or just how MW3 is?

I bought MW3 3 days ago and after 8 hours of playing time I've got "Disc Error" over 15 times and it freezes to the point I have to shut my PS3 off at least two times an hour.

Is it my Ps3? I haven't even had this PS3 for a year yet and it's a 160GB with over 80GB free space and it never happened with any other games.

Do I have a bad disc or is it like this for everyone?

I've never had any disc errors with MW3, if it's just MW3, it's most likely the disc is bad.

Have you tried other games to see if it's your PS3? If the disc is bad I guess you should take it back if you bought it used.

I played Black Ops and GT5 since I bought MW3 and had no problem, I bought the game new tho.

Wanted to know what the problem was, a lot of people get the disc error and then a lot don't. My friend told me it might be my laser in my PS3 and others said they get the same thing and it's how MW3 was made.

I've never once had it with MW3 or any ps3 game for that matter. If u tried other ps3 games they're fine then its obviously MW3. So just go get ur $ back or get a new one.cause not all copies are like that.silentnightmere

I have a few friends who got the error and the freezing a lot also and I looked on other forums and saw the same problem, I guess I'll just drive down to the mall tomorrow and see if they will exchange it.

Try deleteing the files for the game and reinstall it again. I have had this happen with other games and deleteing the files and reinstalling fixed the issue for me. Not saying it will fix your problem but it's worth a try.jimm895

Should I delete the online storage files too or just the ones on my PS3?

The ones on your system because the file could be corupt for some reason when you installed it. Deleteing and reinstalling sometimes will install a clean file the second time around.jimm895

Try doing this:

1) shut off your ps3

2) Hold the on button on the system until it shuts itself off again then let go.

3) Hold the on button again. You wil hear 1 beep, then 2 beeps. Let go of the on button after you hear the 2 beeps.

4) Do what the system prompts you to do, then pick #3. I think its "Restore File System Data" it checks for corrupted file data. Let it run its course.

5) Then do the process over again and pick #4 "Rebuild database." It's supposed to be like a defragmenting process.

If it doesn't help then you werent destined to play MW3. I dont know man, bad karma I guess.
