By mandatory, I mean you aren't able to play unless it's totaly in 3D. I know it's unknown now, But I just wanna know what you guys think, Because I just spent $400 on a 32 inch HDTV and I don't want to have to spend $3000 on some gimmick
Thank you

I hope not. I experienced a 3D TV for the first time the other day and there is absolutely no way in hell those things are worth $3000. I also have a feeling all of this 3D stuff will turn out to have an incredibly bad effect on your eyes after some time.
I see compatible, like Ek said but not mandatory. However, hardware wise, there isn't much for new systems to upgrade to except 3D. However, the concept isn't catching on like Blueray, High Def, etc. so I'm guessing it'll be the next innovtion in entertainment electronics to spark the next manadatory system requirement. If that 3DS is as good as everyone says and it sells mega millions then yes they will at least be compatible.

3d tvs will go way of the laserdisc... cool idea but just wont catch on in long run. its the "cool thing" at the moment for movies, tvs, and now games
Exactly, most people still never even moved on to HDTVs yet let alone planning on getting a 3D one. Hell, look how long it took people to adopt DVDs from VHS tapes.Even if the PS4 doesn't come out for 4-5 years, there will still be a gigantic number of people who don't have 3-D TV's by that time, so Sony would have to be morons to make it mandatory.
