I dont mind buying the game but the reason why i havent bought it yet is because i never played any of the last MGS games and so i might not understand the foth one.

You really should do the same. from what I know the MGS series has a very indepth story, which can only truly be appreciated if you play all the games from start to finish. But as with all games, it's not to everybody's taste.

I was like that with GTA4. I bought it with a system last May and never even tried it until like March. A few friends came over and thought it was sweet that I had it (we were/are all rather broke college students), but they were even more shocked that I had never even played it.

i could not get past the demo so im not gonna force my self to buy it. reminded me of the psp version which is lame! same sound effects and stupid rectangular craw tunnels in the walls. trash... and how ugly is this screen shot? bargin bin buy for me.

Ignore that. Simplyreading a summary can not convey the emotions and experiences the way that actually playing the game for yourself can.

What? You've got to be kidding me. 2 was the best in the series, and 1 was the second best. 4 was the worst in the series, yet still a really good game. It just killed all the sneaking. If anything, play 1 & 2 & 3, then read the summary for 4!

I'll give the same response I always give when people suggest a game I have little interest in:

I'll buy it when it's 10 bucks.

I honestly have no interest in the game, and am not a fan of 3rd person action/stealth games. Just not my thing. I respect the fact that it's a critically acclaimed game/series and realize tons of people love it, but it's just not for me.

MGS4 isn't what it's hyped up to be.

Some may hate me for it, but I found MGS4 boring to play. Maybe I didn't give it enough time, but I enjoyed the first MGS, liked MGS2 well enough, had no patience for all the babysitting you had to do for Naked Snake in MGS3, and I just didn't have interest in the series anymore. I actually regretted buying MGS4 and returned it in about a week after buying it.

I'm sure it's great for those who like the series, but it didn't interest me.

I am currently playing through MGS4 for the first time and am on act 3, (following some chap who is whistling).I am really enjoying the game so far, its made me laugh out loud and the environments are awesome. Just out of interest, how many acts are there?I am hoping this is a really long game. I got the impression it was after the length of act 1. I havent tried playing online yet.

I have only just got my Playstation 3 so this, Littlebigplanet, Flower and GT5are the only games I have. I have a feeling Metal Gear and Littlebigplanet will keep me occupied for a very long time!

Not to mention I saw the Limited edition being sold at Futureshop here in Toronto for like 44.99 lol. Not bad for a LE!

Picked up mine for £15 quid which is awesome. Amazing game, and I've never played the previous ones.

I got the special edition at Wal-Mart for $35 after already having the copy that I got with the system. That's how great this game is.

same. I recently bought them however Id rather play current gen games. Mgs1 so far has an amazing story so far tho. Damn you cyber ninja :evil:

originally i was never a fan of the series. the first game i played was number 2. But after seeing how clever the game designers were in 2 and one i decided to go back and play the first one. All i can say is the psyco mantis fight was the most clever boss battle i think i've ever played in a game. I wasn't really a big fan of stealth like that but you have to play all the games to appreciate the fourth. If your not into stealth i understand, but even the graphics are dated the first one will remain one of the most innovative games to date. I still don't consider my self a hard core fan but i recognize a gem when i see it.

Gave all the other entries in the series a try and didn't like them, I own this (not by choice since it came with my 80gb) and haven't even opened it.Needles-Kane

If you can sit through a 2hr movie and not do anything than you can play MGS4. Just sit back and enjoy.

Played the first MGS on PSone years ago, brilliant game, didn't want to play this without playing the other two but just read up on them and got MGSIV, awesome game
