Dude if a lot of water got into your PSP you're most likely screwed. It'd probably kill it in a while. Sorry for the news. Seen it happen before. Not to me but a friend.

Well if it wasn't a lot it shouldn't be a problem, especially if it wasn't turned on. Do not try to turn it on or charge it again for a couple days, then see.

people have tested a laptop falling into water. so they put it in a dry room with a heater and let it sit there for a few days . not hours

You could

A) let it dry out

B) Get a couple of cans of air and dry it out like that

C)If you could sony about it there ask if you droped it or gat water in it and if you say no and you send it and they find out your have to py them to give it back , fix it , and the shipping cost.

If it gets in the crack that can be bad.  Thats why I take showers:  It's harder to get water in my *crack.

*this is not a drug reference.  If it was then I would be laughing...

if your turned it off immediately and took out the battery, then let is air out for a while it might still work. But most likely no, it would have been broken if you got alot of water on it

A similar topic was discussed in a TV program "The Gadget Show" (UK). The best thing would be to remove the Memory stick, UMD and battery and leave The PSP to dry at room temp for a minimum of 24 hours (much longer if it was seriously soaked), to reduce the drying time you could open the PSP up. (Not Reccomended).

Do not turn on unless it's dry or stuff may fry (cool that rhymes)

OR

Your screwed and have to get it repaired or buy a new one

I know how ya feel man about dropping stuff in water or gettin water on electronics. Used to work for a big electronics company myself and we'd have people calling in all the time with stuff like that happening to their MP3 players. In this case the tech savvy consumer could crack open the housing and air it out as well as dry anything thats still wet. For the PSP sake id let it dry as long as ya can cus in this situation i can safely say sony wont warranty it as my company wouldnt warranty stuff sent in for service that was found with water damage or some form of rust. Naturally there should be some documentation online showing how to take the stuff apart cus one thing you definately dont want is any form of rust. As the PSP may work but later down the road itd stop working. Just my two cents :P

Haha, it depends on your luck. I once spilled a full bowl of miso soup and coke on my phat PSP and it still runs fine after I washed everything off really quickly, and put water in the cracks. Afterwards, it worked fine, except for the fact that some of the buttons were stuck when you press them sometimes, but its not a big problem.

That was also sort of the reason I got my slim.

You turned on an electronic device after you wet it?

OWNED

"Let's turn it on and see if it works!" YAY! Now you have just applied an electric current accross a wet circuit board. Well done.

It should be fine. My fat PSP was in a bag all day with an open bottle of coke and it worked all right after i dried it off. And there were ants inside it for about a month as well. But it works perfectly now.

Don't feel bad, When i purchased my first PsP(fat) I went to 7-Eleven after I cashed my paycheck to buy a Frog slime slurpie(wierd name I know lawlz) I put my PSP down to grab a straw while I was listening to music and the headphones Sony made were too short!(Even with the remote attachment : /) it fell down onto a frickin' cuishioney thing on the ground and didn't even bounce or made sound when it hit(except the soft landing noice) nothing flew off and nothing broke(including the screen :O) I picked it up and tried to turn it back on... Didn't work... Then I took out the battery placed it back in didn't work... I took it home plugged it in.. IT WORKED! Yay! I was so happy so I let it charge overnight, woke up the next day and unplugged it so I could take it to my friends then the damn thing didn't turn on... It bricked... I spent $340+ on it less then a week before... Lucky for me I purchased it at Wal-Mart and got an exchange!
