Looks fine to me. Im one of those people who generally doesnt really see a huge difference between the two. Party because I dont really give that much of a damn. The only HUGE difference youll see is in the way type is handled. Microscopic and unreadable in some instances. Its the only reason Im even thinking of upgrading. And even then Im looking for a cheap 32 inch.

Unfortunately I don't have a picture, however I can assure you the games look much better the previous PS2 console. (It's a powerful system after all).

PS3 is meant for HDTV (Or Monitor.) That's a fact.

You will get full picture quality from it. It is perfectly possible to play PS3 on regular TV. It won't look as good as HDTV, but it will look better then previous generation.

If graphics very VERY important to you - save up for HDTV (or monitor), otherwise it's perfectly fine with regular tv.

I would have, but just bought an HDTV yesterday. It looks pretty good on SDTV, but is so much better on the HDTV.

For the people with the PS3 on a HD-TV. Do you notice the picture is sharper??? I got my ps3 plugged into a 42inch tube, but I am thinking about my 19in monitor just so I get a nice a crisp picture.

Well, when I first got it I was having trouble setting it up on HD. So, for the night I put it on a standard. The graphics were, in lieu of a better term, "Like whoa". But then I realised I needed HD cables and got them a few days later. Set it ou and it was like "WHOA!"

I have played on a standard TV and I can't really say it looks to different from Ps2, but thats just me

I have a 19" LCD (only 480p)in my room that I usually play on and they are a little better, the thing that makes the difference on that is the component cables, they give a better picture with ALOT better brightness and color, and i think that is a huge deal because i don't like hurting my eyes looking at a dark screen

I also have a big 1080p unitin the living roomthat's obviously unmatched, I use an HDMI cable for that. The biggest different Inoticed between the HDMI cables and Component cables is the sound, I don't think I have good enough eyes to spot a picture difference between those two, but then again I never compared them playing a game, only by the home screen. Personally I would have waited to buy a ps3 if I didn't first have an HDTV

I play on a 27" tube with component cables, and it looksgreat overallto me. I'm sure it would look better on a 50" $3500 plasma, but its just too much money to spend on a tv. I think it looks better on my CRT than it doeson any of those LCD's at best buy, or gamestop setups. I would suggest at least upgrading from the regular AV cable that comes with it if possible though.

I play my PS3 on a 20 inch SDTV and the only problem is that the graphics arent as good as it would be on an HDTV and the text is really small, almost unreadable but that shouldnt take the fun out of the gameplay

I play it with a SDTV and its not bad. The only problem is some demos i downloaded i cant play. These were the 2 folklore demos, Gradn turismo, and the french british 100 year war game (cant remember the name right now).

Still id do anything for an HDTV...ANYTHING...a hippo...

I play on a 20" HDTV and the picture is absolutely amazing. Very sharp. I would suggest switching to your monitor for you to see. I use component cables incase you are wondering.

The only difference between the regular tube and HDTV is that HDTV has a higher resolution and is crisper and clearer. I use a tube TV and I've played PS3 on an HDTV and there isn't that much of a difference except the clarity.

That's why you need a HDTV, yes it makes that much of a difference.

Take Folklore or Enchanted Arms for example all unreadable on a SDTV, switch to a HDTV and it's crystal clear.

I ordered a 46' HDTV i'll be getting it next week maybe, fiance can't wait to play Follkore on it.

I'm afraid I'm going to have to dissent from the popular opinion here. Yes HD does make quite a difference. But for the money you're paying for a good size 720p set, in my opinion, you can call upgrading to HD nothing short of a rip off. I've decided to not upgrade to HD until either the price goes down on 1080p sets or a higher resolution comes out(probably 10 years off). So until then it's gonna be good ol' 480i for me. Also I've noticed that when playing in HD jaggies come out that were not present in SD. Also the lines formed by the pixels on the screen are much more apparent on plasmas and LCD HD sets than on a standard tube SD set.
