Was wondering how often you should give it a clean as I usually clean mine like every two weeks or when I can be bothered, but I was wondering weather it needed more than this?

I once used compressed air on my PS3, instead air, some liquid came out & sneaked inside PS3...oh that sound! Like if you`d put plastic on fire! Now when i`m done gaming i cover my consoles with soft clothes after 20 minutes, till it cools down (some kind of silky thing i have). Forgot to remove it a couple of times when playing & almost killed my consoles again. I swear the more i take care of my things the quicker i`ll destroy them.
My 9 months old xbox 360 is getting quite hot fairly quickly, pretty certain because accumulated dust. Not sure if i should clean it myself (afraid to) or pay someone skilled to do it...
Dont people vacuum their houses every 2-3 days?
Correct answer
If you don't live in filth you're fine for the most part.
Consoles are meant to be zero maintenance devices, you don't need to upgrade anything and you don't need to clean anything.
Now if you're someone who doesn't dust out their entertainment center regularly or you put their console in an area it shouldn't be (like bottom shelf in front of a rug or carpet) then yes, you're going to get more dust than usual in the machine and all you need is a quick shot of compressed air to make things right again.
@Jaysonguy: compressed air blows dust into the console everyone knows this it says it all over the play station support forums.
