GTA IV could've been MILKED a lot. . . Rockstar probably never thought about it since the game was released so long ago, but GTA V

(or whatever it'll be named) needs to be a masterpiece and if they play their cards right, it could be something like now LBP is (kinda)

but they can't go backwards . . . They need the next one to OWN San Andreas and be something more than what people could imagine. . .

Sure it'll probably take them a good few years (maybe not because they have a big team to get things done) but this GTA needs to be way

better than GTA IV (since it is known to not be a great as the others)

(My list is below because I was getting problems with it all in first post due to html errors and etc)

Here is my list, what about your ideas and opinions ?

Story Mode

1) stats.. Like on San Andreas for Lung Capacity and etc

2) Detailed bodies as in overweight, skinny, cut

3) perhaps more weapons and customizations

4) Customized cars and pimp them out

5) More vehicles for cars, choppers, and back to jets and airplanes

6) able to get your own apartments, houses, and mansions

7) More clothes, tattoos, hair, and etc.

8) perhaps co op ? (maybe not but it depends like if people who join your story are just henchmen n use there online characters as u use the main guy/girl)

9) More stores, clubs, casinos, and places to walk into

10) Different Fighting moves

11) A new city.... ?

12) NO GLITCHES (if it has glitches they need patches 24/7)

Online Mode

1) Own apartment, house, mansion and customizations. . .

2) More online modes

3) DLC servers linked to each other (sucks how TBOGT and TLAD had there own servers when they should've been linked to GTAIV)

4) a lot of DLC like new tattoos, missions, maps, stories, vehicles, weapons and etc (like LBP doing whatever)

5) Custom soundtracks and other players could listen to it

6) (mostly everything said for story mode)

IMO they got it pretty spot on with RDR. Add that sort of multiplayer, Saints Row kind of coop and try to make the side quests a little more varied so people like me don't just give up after the billionth identical mission. :)

With the success of the alternate genre I'm tempted to think they would be wise leaving the franchise be for a few more years, try something new, and then come back to it once GTA4 has well and truly died down.

I just hope is more like GTA 3- SA than that bore fess that was GTA 4. Online mode needs a better structure indeed. Starting 1-32 players( 16 will still be okay but come one) Better lobby system

I want their to be country side like in San Andreas. Make the character control more fluidly like Drake from Uncharted. More variety in the missions The Ballad had tons of variety so I think Rockstar got the message.

I think at first look it should like like a quiet game, but under the boring layer there is a over the top layer waiting to be discovered.

Much more content and stats. make it very similar to an RPG. more useless things to do like spraypainting or shin kicking.

keep the dark serious story type from gta 4

make it so it DOESNT RAIN EVERY DAY.

nudity

npc interactions.

crazy humor

Lots of rpg elements like San Andreas but not so many that it becomes an rpg. This is also the first time I have seen anyone agree with me on the rpg part. If GTA5 is basically a mix of San Andreas and Ballad of Gay Tony then it will be a great game. Oh and the soundtrack has got to be as good as San Andreas' sountrack. Strutter, Horse With No Name, Killing in the Name of, Express Yourself, Young Turks, Barracuda, Freebird, and so many more make it have the best GTA soundtrack in my opinion (even better than Vice City). It has to be an improvement over GTA4's soundtrack with the only two songs I remember being Top Down, and Jailbreak (Top Down is my favorite hip/hop song). Probably the most important part of the game in my opinion that rockstar has to work on because I know that they won't screw up the gameplay (though they may screw up checkpoints like in every other GTA game).

Ok I'll be the one to say it, just copy GTA SA and improve the graphics to fit with this gen and improve the multiplayer. As far as story mode goes, I honestly can't name a single flaw in SA.

Yakuza?

R u comparing that to GTA ?

why not? though different in many places, the premise and structure loosely resemble each other. not to mention Yakuza is in a number of ways a better series than GTAs.

as for GTA per se... personally i feel GTA IV has everything i ever wanted from such a game. it's honestly the best in the series. the only thing Rockstar can significantly improve is the shooting and combat. an entirely new setting will be cool, but i don't see how a city outside of the US will make a GTA - itself a parody and examination of the American dream.

GTAIV was a disappointment. Everyone was drooling to get their hands on the next Gen GTAIV. We all wanted it to be greater than San Andreas in every way, but it wasn't even close. You can't take out jet packs, airplanes, good radio stations, Cheetahs, the army, and on top of that make the cops more responsive to every little infraction. Some people like to turn on GTA and attack civilians until the army comes. It is just fun. Even that went away in GTAIV. I agree GTAV needs to be be greater than San Andreas. GTAIV got boring really fast. I didn't play and of the exclusive contents, because I wasn't about to give Rockstar more money for a game that didn't meet my expectations.

This is what I would like to see:

  • Set in Vice City, but the city is expanded on with more stores and an overal bigger area.
  • An RPG like game like San Andreas
  • Planes
  • Be able to swin under water
  • Does not take place in a modern time area. Maybe the 70s?
  • A huge selection of clothes like in San Andreas
  • A great story
  • 100+ story missions
  • Firetruck, poilice, taxi, ambulance missions all back with bonuses for completeing them
  • More diversions, like the activites in Saints Row 2 that you can do
  • Make it unrealistic and wacky, but with the amazing graphics from GTA4

After the critical acclaim GTA IV enjoyed along with the sky-high hype died down, many people of the gaming community started to essentially turn on the game for being overly-dramatic and ultimately not as fun as the other games in the series. For me, the game progressed and "aged" terribly. As I played more and more, I started to enjoy it less and less, which is strange because I almost always end up enjoying a game after a few good hours. To offer up an analogy, it was like getting married with a really hot sociopath in Vegas. Sure, it's all fun and games at first, but then you start to regret it.

i don;t know.... i started playing it only recently, after i had finished RDR (which is "known to not to be as bad as GTA IV", or so the community often claims), so it couldn't have been hype that made me love it so much. i love GTA SA too, and that makes me even more impressed with IV because of the direction Rockstar took with it. the game took a sure step towards providing a more somber experience without losing its humourous and sarcastic edge. i also like the depth in the majority of the npcs, who possess the emotional weight and nuances to bond with the gamer. that's why, for example, when Roman called me up for a game of bowling i could never bring myself to say no because he's a kin who saw the human being in me.

another impressive aspect of the game is the automobiles. it's strange, i know - when a game that revolves almost entirely on driving features extremely detailed vehicle models and realistic physics, it should be pretty easy to spot and appreciate. but it's not. and it's a real shame, because GTA IV is that close to being a full-fledged racing game and i can tell many players just didn't bother.

so, i respectfully disagree with you. not only it's not boring (unless you find every GTA game boring), it has also aged extremely well. this game is imo the best GTA and so far the best 7th gen experience i've had.

uh sure? too bad the attention to detail is unprecedented. the entire city of liberty city feels alive and organic. crafting such a world takes a huge amount of talent and experience. GTAlV is a masterpiece, and is going down the record books as one of, if not the most successful game of all time.

I wish they just a made a remake of San Andreas, but with updated physics and graphics, and a cover system implemented.

And LBP a masterpiece?? lol! Maybe to a few people

They should make it so you could travel to different cities around the world, that would really make it interesting, and that you could get on the big planes to get there and maybe hijack them and stuff. (Don't mean to be insensitive but the world needs to move on)

Better characters and a really rip roaring gangster story plus co-op mode, more varied missions, bicycles, kids(there are never any children to annoy) maybe some interesting mini games like soccer, basketball, you could even have bullfighting if they put Madrid in there. It would be exciting as well to maybe have a secret military base and be able to steal a UFO with lasers and stuff and be able to go into outer space, just to see. In other words, no limits. A complete, no holds barred grand theft auto. San Andreas was the way forward and GTAIV is the example of what not to do.

Probably the most important part of the game in my opinion that rockstar has to work on because I know that they won't screw up the gameplay (though they may screw up checkpoints like in every other GTA game).MUSH_IS_PWNs
Dude the song listing in the BOGT and TLND rocked! It was one of the best in the series. With Iron Maiden, ACDC, Bon Jovi and a couple others, i had more fun with this sound track than GTA 4's.
