one of my controllers R2 button is broken it doesnt shoot all the way back up causing problems in games ex throwing unwanted grenades, passing the puck. Is there some sort of spring that i could stretch inside the remote or is there no hope of fixing it. before I take it apart I just wanted to know anything helpful

thanks-snakewiseman

This happened to me, except mine got "sticky." You would have to push it till it made a hard "click" sound before it would do anything. To fix it I took the controller apart and had a look. It turned out that a little plastic sensor sheet had bunched up under the R2 button making it stick. Took the button and spring off, flattened out the plastic piece, and put it back together. Good as new. I have 4 controller and I honestly can't remember which one it was that I took apart and fixed.

TC READ: I know of this peripheral that makes the old triggers into original DS triggers. The cost around 3-7 $ from what i noticed. I saw them on Amazon last, but i have no idea if buying these will alter the sensitivity. They are what seem to be seperate triggers which are attached to the original two.

Very strange indeed. My R2 on one of my original DS3 controllers is also over sensitive. Not as bad as some of you guys' though. I'll take it apart I guess since I recently bought a blue one for me and a red one for the wife. I'll experiment. I got lots of floppies laying around. I B old. I still have some 5 1/4 inch disks in my case.

Does anyone know if its possible to fix the new models with the same method? I fixed the R2 on my old sixaxis successfully many times, but I simply cannot make it work on the new models which dont have an additional plastic piece between R1 and R2. I couldnt figure out the new position the spring needs to be in.
