You can... just push it up more carefully and with less force.

I almost never accidentally turn it off. You just slide it up carefully.

The way i do is it, i put my finger in the space above the hold switch, then i push the switch so my finger is in the way so it can't turn off!

Yes, it's kinda annoying. I switch off accidentally 75% of the time.

Push down on the switch. The friction gives you more control (at least on my original PSP).

How hard is it to use a switch? Although Sony really should have thought that design through a bit better, its not particularly convenient.

i think that is the answer to the TC. saying "very carefully" is not quite as good of an answer. lol. I've had a similar problem when taking my psp off hold.

edit: next time sony. design the hold switch like the IPOD. it does not turn the unit on or off, just hold.

Design flaw? Perhaps. Perhaps not. If it was then why was it kept on the new psp? I have trouble sometimes with the hold. I think they should have made a seperate switch for it.

I've never even used the hold button.
