Hey guys.I just got a 40 gig PS3 a couple days ago and was wondering if the bottom generally gets hot.Every other side is fine,it's just the bottom.Mine is standing vertically,so it's the side.Normal way bottom. Just want to know if it's normal.Thanks.

It's more along the lines of warm. That's fine right? I don't want to have to send it back.

It's also the side where some of the air exhaust vents are; so naturally it'll probably get a bit hot.

Edit: Yes, warm is fine.

Same here... I thought the thing would overheat after a few hours playing. Actually i think the 360 gets way hotter than the PS3. I would remember sometimes the system 360 being so hot(after about 4 hours playtime), my room felt extremely humid.

yeah as long as its not searing hot you are ok. I've had mine on for days either just idle, playing or Folding, and it has gotten VERY hot. So unless you are capable of heating up food on it dont worry, just keep it somewhere rather ventilated!
